The only place I can seem to find this game is on ebay for $120-$150 dollars, Buy it Now (of course no one is bidding that high). Is anyone willing to part with their copy, or does anyone have any advice on where I could find it?

Thanks

I'm listing my copy on eBay tonight as a 3 day auction. I don't think it will sell for that much. It's a used copy, but has the box & manual.

I would advise you to join Goozex and trade Mac games that way. Halo seems pretty rare, even there though.

What the heck? I just saw that... nobody has Halo Mac anymore, and MacSoft has even removed any mention of it from their site. What happened?

Wild, ignorant guess: their publishing/distribution contract expired as the rights for Mac ports typically don't last more than a few years. (Wilder guess: they reverted back to Microsoft.)

Example: MacSoft had the publishing/distribution rights to Civ3 (and I did the port for them at Westlake). After 3 or so years, the rights reverted to Take 2/Atari/Infogrames. Aspyr signed the Mac rights for Civ3 and Civ4 from Take2 and I got to re-port it again as an Aspyr employee. It felt dirty and incestuous, but I liked it.

Unloading Halo: CE is a capital offense. That game is an investment that will never pay off for me. Because, I'll never sell it.

For a guy who has a low knowledge of programming and hardware, on this board, how did the porting with Macsoft and the subsequent porting with Aspyr differ? What were the major and minor differences, if at all?

Thanks, Liberator.

well it wouldve been fairly similar. there would be a few instances where the aspyr version could be bettered slightly because of there being a few new tricks up Brad's sleeve. And bugs in the macsoft version which he would know about and look to avoid. But aside from the expansions being built in, there wouldnt have been any major differences between the two.

of course, on a newer system, and intel too, youd want the aspyr version.

Oh, okay. I was just curious to know what would be different. So there would probably not have been much. Good to know, and now to learn.

Thanks, Liberator.

I downloaded a mac version because I can't seem to legitimately buy a copy ANYWHERE. Does anyone know if it would be possible to buy a windows copy and use the registration code in my mac version? I'd really like a legal version any way possible but I don't want to fork out $60-$110 for a used copy of a five year old game.

Then your probably out of luck because MacSoft is not producing anymore therefor you can't really find new stock of Halo in any store.

I have been thinking about parting with my copy as I don't really play it anymore
