Seeing as we Dont always have a moderator online, what if we gave Pro users the ability to hide a spam thread and forward the problem to our mod's so they can deal with it when they sign on?

to be honest theres really not all that much spam on this forum. Very occasionally you get one or two. The worst instance was some point last year when we got around 15 in one day or something, but overall its very tight and I reckon we actually see more newbies posting in multiple forums than spam.

anyway, I see no reason to do this, not to mention that having a Pro account doesnt automatically make you as respectable and sensible as a member of Parliament (oh the irony!)...

Yeah, that's not such a hot idea because then anyone could just sign up for a Pro account with the intent of messing up the forums. For a measly $15, you can bet some people would do that.

:nods:

Besides, there is no way to split out just one moderator tool such as making the thread or post invisible, if I grant perms for one mod tool then they are all granted. Every IMG Pro member would be a full moderator and that isn't going to happen. If I have a moderator on board every minute of the day, it is like swatting the occasional fly that gets through the screen door using the Distant Early Warning system, NORAD and an atomic bomb. Besides, you may not know it, but you really don't want a lot of moderators milling around on the forum.

I picture that scene in Terminator where the landscape is covered with an army of series T-101 Terminator endoskeletons advancing while shooting at anything that breathes, undulates or farts.

Yeah! We just watched the trilogy last weekend, and the imagery is stuck in my head. We DID watch the original in the theaters when it first came out, I was about 37 then. If you would like to imagine something more along the lines of an army of Battle Cat's, just picture logging on and seeing a hundred or so of these things coming towards you over a smoking, devastated forumscape...

I smell a conspiracy.. or is that your gun finally melting from shooting so much? (lurvs the ak 47)

PS: I actually loved the AK47 so much, my girlfriend made me a tshirt that said (in chinese signs) "peaceful negotiations" with the picture of an ak47 next to it.
