weird problems play ETQW n mac pro

so I downloaded the demo of etqw and it keeped freezing up and crashing on start up.

so I installed the Catalyst drivers and I got to play ETQW.

Then did some stuff in OS X. Now, Quake wars crashes on start up.

Whats the deal, can I play this game on a mac pro? I have an 8 core mac pro running 2 GB ram, with the readon 2600 HD on here.
