Had an email from Amazon.co.uk to say the release date had been changed by the supplier and was now estimated at 02/02/08 - 05/02/08. Incidently Play.com are citing 05/02/08 as well so it looks like we might not have too much longer to wait.

I'm also pleased Amazon took the time the notify me of the change as it made me realise I'd pre-ordered it from two retailers   :D

I'd guess that 2/2 to 5/2 is Feb 2nd to Feb 5th and that Sargiel is using that wonky metric calendar.

yup, whats the point of doing month then day then year? makes no sense unless written out in words like:
February the 5th, 2008. 02052008 doesnt make sense like that, and makes even less sense when you start putting time in there (cos time works from right>left in terms of big>small). 14:53/05/02/2008 works best, but you could justify doing it the exact opposite to keep with watch time. So 2008/02/05/14:53 works quite well so long as it has those particular dividers.

time and date keeping is just a massive mess really.

There is actually an international standard for date and time representation, ISO 8601. According to the standard you could write the above as 2008-02-05 14:53. You can increase or decrease precision by adding or removing elements on the right; e.g. 2008-02-05 14:53:27.185473950

Simple. Take the ISO date, now pick a totally random number with one decimal place, there's your stardate. :)

I prefer big endian, of course, but giving a date as 05/02 there's nothing to say they didn't actually mean May 2.

Except for the part that says Amazon.co.uk.

I'm interested to know what build will ship.  1.10? Which could make use with pc motb possible.

or will they wait out till 1.12 when the disappearing party members is scheduled to be fixed...

There are still horror show bugs in the game, It must be a tough decision.

Crunchy in milk: Thanks for the on topic response ;)

Usually they ship with the latest patch so I'm expecting 1.10 as we're (hopefully!) near a release. I just hope the expansion is quick to follow  :nods:

Well, the Brits are still adamant about that release date: "This item will be released on 30 Jan 2008."

Amazon.com now states Feb 4, 2008

Amazon Germany has of course no idea again...

bear in mind that the performance of the PC version sucked badly often for no reason. As such, Aspyr is working darned hard to get it performing on all dedicated GPU macs with good frame rates. and thats no easy task in the first place, let alone when you gotta muck around rewriting code.

of course, thats all speculation really, but unless the code for the PC version has improved since its initial release Aspyr are fighting up hill.

Yep! I remember reading two or three reviews when it came out about how the recommended requirements seemed high for this time of game and it's level of graphics.

I've run the PC version on my iMac (2.33GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 7600GT) via bootcamp and admit that it wasn't the fastest. However the expansion fixed a lot of these performance issues on the PC side hence my hope that Aspyr release the first expansion shortly after NWN 2 itself.

I'm on holiday from the 5th - 12th Feb and was hoping NWN2 would be waiting for me when I got back .. but nevermind.

Just checked Aspyr's site on Sunday and it's now listed as "In Stores". What a nice surprise!
