I have found a solution!!!!!!!! Albeit a very strange one. But it works. After starting the game, get to the main menu (or really any part of the game past the intro) and simply use the 'Force Quit' button combination..... Apple+Option+Escape.... Make sure to only hit the combo once. Especially in VGP3, if you hit it twice, it will quit the game. Like magic, you can now use your keyboard. Map the keys and drive with the keys. Don't know why it works, but I have done it a hundred times now in both VGP2 and VGP3 and it works. You also may have to relaunch the finder afterward as it may screw up your desktop icons.

Not kidding, true story. Try it and get back to playing VGPHD!!!!!!! NOW!!!!!!!

Here is a side note about VGP3 for anyone testing it, even though you can map the keys, the default steering is always the mouse which sucks and it cannot be mapped to the keys. You will have to steer with the mouse. Sorry.

Interesting work around. I guess the game is not able to grad the keyboard control from some system process when launching? Hopefully VGP3 won't have this issue as I am assuming it will be Leopard compatible on release.

I got the chance to try the demo of VGP2 on a 24" 2.4GHz Intel Mac running 10.5.1. I installed your HD version of Imola and the game loaded under rosetta faster than natively on my PM G5 2.5GHz Dual with X800XT :o ! Unfortunately I didn't have a wheel or anything connected and the force quit tip didn't work so all I could do was steer with the mouse. Judging from the intro movie I am hopeful that the game will run as well (or better than) on Power Mac. It would be nice to hear feedback from a Mac Pro owner.

linkc.... Get the demo here.

It is the actual demo of VGP2. It does not have any of my VGPHD Updates. I think the demo has the Imola track which is one of the tracks that I updated. You can also update the cars to the 2007 version if you like. All of my updates can be found here.
