I believe they all take a quite a bit of CPU power. Have you tried SnapZpro X too, or did you already purchase IShowU?

I'm going to give ScreenRecord
a try. I haven't tried IShowU and I lost patience and time (literally:demo timed out) while trying SnapZpro X.
btw, how was SnapZpro for you, other than the lag?

Well..... I've regained my patience and I'm going to give SnapZproX another try.
I've also lost my patience for screenrecord; There's a method to all this madness.
Glad it's worked, at least for you. I'm reading the SnapZ manual now.

So, is the game still playable though, when you are recording it?
If so, you can import the .bmp/quicktime movie, into iMovie and speed it up.
Also, from what little experimenting I've done with these types of recording Apps., it seems to
be the standard highest setting is 30 fps.. So, with that in mind and with lower ended Macs, such as yours and mine, we have to realize that there will not be the highest performance available. There are some settings you can lower and some you can deselect. This should help. But, all in all
there will be a lower than desired performance, especially for CPU intensive games. Regular
screen recording should seemingly work without a hitch. But, also if you have a lot of CPU intensive other Apps., running in the background, this will degrade performance as well...
Hope I helped,

Sorry to hear that. Do you play it from the Disc or a .dmg? I've been experimenting some more and using the CD seems to distribute the power management of the system to more stable.
Also, if you want to ever send a movie to youtube, it has to have specific specs, like 640x480 res. and 64k mono sound. Those seem humble enough. I've just finished TR Caves and SZP is dubbing the vid right now. Doubt I'll post it as is on youtube tho. Edit and retry.

I just finally purchased a Snapz Pro 2 license.
I love it, works great! I've made a few movies already. Thanks Ambrosia Software Team!
