personally i went with VMWare's fusion, so i dont know if ill be much help..

first question though, are you trying to use a boot camp partition?

first and probably only suggestion, try renaming the drive to E.

I remember that D: is traditionally the CD/DVD drive, while A and B are floppy drives and C the hard drive... its traditional to do it like this because thats the order things were developed... Since then its gotten more flexible, and anything after D can be pretty much whatever you want (generally external drives of some description), but perhaps Parallels is hard coded to expect only 1 HDD set to C, and 1 DVD drive set to D.
Polytetrafluoroethylene to my friends.

Macbook Pro - C2D 2.4Ghz / 4Gb RAM / WD Scorpio Black 320GB ( 255GB OSX v 42GB XP ) / Geforce 8600M GT 256Mb / 15.4"
Cube - G4 1.7Ghz 7448 / 1.5Gb RAM / Samsung Spinpoint 250GB / Geforce 6200 256Mb

We won! Apple offer the 17" with a matte screen! Well... at a price...
