Nothing has been published about it yet, but since it doesn't really sound interesting at all from reviews I don't think I'll mind not having it for mac.

it doesn't? I think it sounds like a fun little title that I would enjoy playing on a mac.. And I always hated SimCity for not being able to produce european cities, in ANY way.

I remember playing a Dresden scenario in the first SimCity. It shipped with the game, your mission was to put out the fires with only so much budget.

well ok, I didn't play Sim City. Only every other one, but still. I hear it even had simple building placements; no zoning and such.

It still had zoning, but it was implemented differently. Sim City was indeed much simpler, and harder. Keeping a city going for a long while was tough and it eventually died out for lack of funds. That was never a problem in the later versions.

And no problem at all in SC Societies. It has no economics at all.

Honestly, the game sucks. It's illogical and dumb. Not even "Sim City Light", but not Sim City at all.

...fitting more into the "sims" category. I don't know, I played it a bit, it seems like a light fun "design your own city" kind of thing. With no real goal at all, that's true, but open-endedness isn't that bad.. is it?

The real SimCity is open-ended as well, but SimCity Societies is also completely pointless.

Does it have to be pointful? Aah, whatever. Some like it, some don't!

Actually, I like it a lot. It's sometimes hard to say if you're doing great, financially or "crimeally", but there are no real penalties for doing bad in those areas, one might even try to aim for it. But it IS fun, in the same way that The Sims can be fun, and that game has no "point" or "story" or whatever.

(yes, I played it already, for PC)

if it ever releases for Mac, I might even get it.
