They live in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins and ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins. I believe a clean install has nothing in the latter, and these in the former: Flash Player.plugin, JavaPluginCocoa.bundle, nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt, Quartz Composer.webplugin, QuickTime Plugin.plugin, QuickTime Plugin.webplugin, VerifiedDownloadPlugin.plugin.
Still crashing on launch with it paired down to just that, so I put it all back.  It was worth a shot, thanks!

..so any reason to get this update if safari isn't an issue? (I have tiger)

It has security updates and stuff.

I'd recommend trying something else.  People have been breathing for ages; it's time for something new!  Let us know how it goes.

QT 7.5 is actually quite a lot nicer than 7.3 or whatever... it gets rid of those horrible borders on the sides of windows and is just plain old nicer...

That's odd... Where are you getting QT 7.5? It's not even on Apple.com for download

Ah... I see, you mean iTunes 7.5. Yeah, it's cool.

So all you Tiger users installed 10.4.11 with the combo updater, right?

One fix I noticed is when you right clicked an icon that wasn't permanently in the dock(launched application), the icon would disappear instead of become somewhat transparent. In 10.5.1, the icons become properly transparent.

Of course.  There is no other way (that doesn't court trouble for some people).

By the way, Safari is now opening as fast as it should (like .2 seconds instead of 10), and sure enough, I see that all the favicons in my bookmarks are gone.  Never would have guessed that was the problem....  Still no Safari crashes here, either.

I was a bad cat.  I just let software update do it.  I'll go back and download/install the combo then let you know if it helps.

Hey, all my favicons came back for some reason.  That's weird.  Safari still launches almost instantly, though, so if that actually was the problem, I guess they fixed it....

if you visited the sites again, and havent disabled collecting favicons, then theyll be stored once again.
and while deleting them got rid of a lot of clutter, that will build up again, so if things get slower and slower, you know what to do in future.

That solved my Safari crash-on-launch problem!  I started and stopped 50 times in a row without a hitch and several times since then.  I couldn't have gotten farther than 5 starts without a crash before.  I'm calling this one fixed!

Yep, but what I mean is they all came back at once even without visiting any of them.  Like I said, weird.

Yes, combo updates.  None of that delta update silliness.

Another thing I've noticed now with Safari 3 is: beachball factor = 0.  It used to happen sometimes for several seconds when opening lots of tabs at once, but not anymore.  Yay.

I've noticed that Safari 3 doesn't seem to want me to open a new tab until the last tab has finished opening.  Normally, when this or other forums are slow, I'll open a couple of links in a new tab and view what ever loads first.  That isn't possible anymore.
