There is a much lower percentage of people here with 'cock' somewhere in their gamer tag than the general TF2 population would seem to suggest. ;P

Alright, I just finished playing a few rounds with Quicksilver, and realized just how bad of a noob I am.

Any tips from the pro's?

Play more.  A lot more.  Yes, it's really that simple (you might also want to join games with 6-12 people).

Find a class that really clicks with your style of gameplay.  It may take awhile, but with 9 classes there has to be one that you really feel comfortable learning.  When you get killed, always keep in mind who it was and where they were.  I find this especially useful against snipers since they tend to stay around the same spot most of the time, and thus I'm more alert to avoiding them or doing some suppressive fire, to force them to move outta the way and allow me to keep out of their cross hair.  For the record, I tend to play Medic, Soldier, and Demoman.

Medic is a great class for learning a map because you can follow other players round, and do a lot of good without doing all that much.

Just don't get stuck on your own!

Personally though, I  demoman. I just love to blow stuff up!

im a heavy through and through.. but ill happily do a stint as a medic and team up with another heavy. as ive said before, that partnership is pretty crucial to a successful team...

Today, I was mainly playing as : Pyro, Soldier or Heavy.
Also tried : Engineer, Demoman and Medic...
I think I'm more effective as a Soldier or Heavy.. so far.  ;)

Will probably give the remaining classes (Spy and Scout) a shot tomorrow sometime.

I am useless as a Medic (maybe don't have that glowy health thing done to help other players yet), and almost useless as a soldier as well. I'm actually liking most of the other classes though and have a blast (literally) as a Demoman, Heavy and Scout. I love sniper but am a useless shot.

the health gun?? its set to weapon 2, and you spawn with weapon 1. you want to switch to it instantly and start healing people (point and hold down mouse 1) as soon as you spawn. keep healing for a long time and youll get the invincible, at which point you either coordinate with someone or just pick the guy doing the most use, start healing him and right click to activate. it goes quite quickly, but with a good player, they can take out loads of people very quickly and turn over a heavily defended cp...

also, if working with someone else you need to try and look out for spies, and that is where voice chat comes in really really handy. That and coordinating.

I shall be on later tonight... around 10PM GMT me thinks...

I'm a pretty good engineer (mostly cause I don't ignore the teleporter), and have done really well as a Pyro and surprisingly as a Sniper as well. The only classes I never get anywhere as are the Spy and Scout. I've been top of the game with a heavy, especially when there's a good medic around, but I often have trouble getting to the range where the minigun is really effective when I'm solo.

I second the recommendations to just get more practice, but also find a class that you work with well. You do need to be a bit flexible and work with what the team needs, but it's a world of difference when you figure out the classes who's playstyle suits you.
