Still no luck with Galactic Battlegrounds.   I get a bunch of missing files errors, like sound and graphic files.  Then the game quits and my screen goes black so that I must forcequit the game.

If I were you I'd reinstall the game, cuz it sounds more like a missing files problem then a leopard problem ;)

I have re-installed twice now.   Hard to explain the problem.  I get all those errors about missing files and then when the errors go away, the application begins to quit.   When it is trying to quit, I get an almost completely black screen.    I have to force quit the app, not even being able to see the Forcequit screen.

I briefly started up in 10.4 to do the 10.4.11 upgrade. After this I quickly tested NOLF, NOLF 2, TRON and Elite Force - they all ran fine so it is definitely something that broke going to 10.5

Do you have a screenshot of one of the missing file errors? It's not clear to me if you're seeing this error in the game UI or a Mac dialog before the game or what.

Note also that the game definitely doesn't support a case-sensitive filesystem.

Intel core duo iMac 2Ghz/2Gig RAM/256mb X1600

Looks like Giants: CK is also screwed, using either the original or Build 7 patch. Game crashes on load with little info to indicate why. This was always a fun game, makes me sad It'll be shelved now :( Guess I'll have to go dig up a PC version for bootcamp.

I have been running through my games on my Power Mac G5 to see which break with Leopard. A did an erase and install of 10.5 and dragged across the games from my Tiger 10.4.10 install on my second internal drive along with associated user preferences and Application support folders.

Any luck with myst revelation? I am new to mac and cannot get this game to run. It installs but when you click the icon to run it does nothing. Have tried multiple reinstalls. It says it needs 10.2, It is an older game and I guess not necessarily will work on leopard.. Any ideas? Cannot find any patches on Ubisoft.

Flight Gear runs fine for me on my Macbook pro.
Need for Speed Carbon has problems: Black screen, sounds plays fine.
Any knowledge about myst revelation. I cannot get it to run at all, apparently no patches available.

Great thread I ordered my copy of Fallout today now that I know it will work.
Does anybody know about Baldur's Gate 2 and Freedom Force?

Baldur's Gate runs as crappy/perfect as on 10.4. The game installs and runs like it should, but it crashes on 50% of all save attempts. But maybe it might work, I actually came onto the forums to look for a solution to this problem, which has a solution it seems! *w00t*

Edit: BG 2 of course.

Did you already have game installed before upgrading to Leopard or did you install it afterwards? Is the version you are running the version from the CD prior to the patch?

I tried a fresh install on my 10.5.1 disk - I have a G5 2.5GHz Dual with X800XT card. I still got the same graphics issues - the background scenery is fine but the characters have holes in them were textures are missing and long lines coming out of them. It is like some weird horror film  :lol

I'm guessing you have a NVIDIA card in your quad?

If it is an ATI related problem is anyone in contact with ATI to let them know? I no longer have a login to their forums.

Has anyone tested Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 yet?
There's going to be an unhappy daughter in my house if Leopard kills that one.

I decided to try a few of the problem games again now that 10.5.2 is released. I actually managed to get NOLF (the original game) working again!  :)  It turns out that the problem was having trilinear filtering on. This was preventing the objects in the game from being textured. I had to set it to zero in my existing autoexec.cfg file. If I removed this file the game would create a new file but then my keyboard wouldn't work once in the game. :(

I noticed on the chart at Macrumors (link below) that Indiana Jones, 007 NightFire, and NOLF 2 are listed as working on Rosetta on 10.5 - can anyone confirm this?

Regarding AvP2: I'm running a MacPro with fully updated Tiger (10.4.11); the software works fine. Last night I installed Leopard 10.5.2 on a second drive, ported my 10.4 install to Leopard, and encountered the usual freeze-up upon trying to run the game.

The game freezes after the first splash screen (MacPlay), before the second appears (AvP2). After that come several AVI movies (Fox, Lithtec, etc) that can be bypassed in Tiger by renaming / deleting the MOVIE folder inside the DATA folder. Renaming this folder did not fix the crash problem in Leopard - I'd been hoping  the problem was simply with the AVIs.

I also tried setting preferences on my saved game so that double-clicking on it directly started AVP2 - worked in Tiger, but again, same freeze in Leopard.

Burning a CD with the same name as CD1 (Aliens vs. Predator 2) but only an MP3 on it resulted in a "please insert the AVP2 CD" screen.

Trying to start with CD2 in the drive makes the game ask for CD1.

More random hackery to come.
