It's mind boggling...a brand new sports game for a brand new computer and it does not work on the new iMacs. The new iMacs have been out for over two months...the game was released last week and is apparently not compatible with the ATI Radeon HD 2600 video card.
Major thumbs down to EA Sports for not thoroughly testing this product...major thumbs down to Apple for not providing support for it and for continuing to sell it on their website knowing that it has some serious issues.
This problem has been reported on EA Sports forums and Apple forums for some time....
However, with the release of Leopard this week, it is possible that they may be using all of their resources dealing with that...so a patch may not be in our near future.
My advice...do not buy this game if you have this video card in your computer....wait until EA Sports and Apple get their act together.
Returning mine to Apple today.

Good news: latest Apple software update 1.2 for system 10.4.10 fixes Tiger Woods so that it now runs on the new iMacs with the Radeon 2600 card....hooray!
Bad news: graphics are only average....some courses the greens and fairways have no textures....some minor graphic glitches....makes the game look and feel like something out of the 90s. XBox 360 (when they finish with their patches) is the way to go for eye candy....
Good news: it has some kewl new courses....course life feature that displays animals, birds, and yes, insects adds a touch of realism....trees, grass, and shrubs blow in the wind realistically...nice touch....ambient sounds are nice....
Bad news: takes a while to fine tune it on the options page....there doesn't seem to be a detailed explanation of what some of the options do...so you have to just play with them and hope for the best.
Overall I would give it a B+ mostly because it is our only choice for a decent golf sim right now.....it has a lot of raw potential IMHO.

Apart from the obvious bugs you are seeing, that was to be expected: for some reason, EA thinks PC (and hence also Macs) can only cope with PS2 level graphics in sports games. This is something that ails all recent EA sports games.
