Games32 recently posted a short preview of Epic Games' eagerly awaited Unreal Tournament 3 as well as a handful of screenshots. The latest entry in the Unreal Tournament first person shooter series, the game will feature the fast paced multiplayer action fans of the series have come to expect in addition to a campaign mode for fans of single player games.

The single player campaign features you as the last warrior of a clan massacred by the Necris, therefore you start to wipe out the invaders for revenge and humanity safety. Epic Games kept some of the old game modes like Death Match, Team Death Match or Capture the Flag, removed some of the old modes (Double Domination, Bombing Run, Assault) and introduced some new ones like Vehicle Capture the Flag and Warfare, which is a combination between Onslaught and Assault where players have to conquest point-nodes in their way to the enemy power core. You can also pursuit the Campaign online with your friends.

The weapon arsenal is relatively the same as UT 2004 when speaking of Bio Rifle, Shock Rifle, Link Gun, Flak Cannon, Rocket Launcher or the Sniper Rifle. Weapons like: the Enforcer (a pistol with one shot or burst fire rate; you can wield two at the same time), Impact Hammer (which can kill an enemy instant if applied well or can disable vehicles with the alternative function), and the Stinger Minigun (fires normal bullets or high caliber bullets that can pin an enemy to the wall) are new additions to the old arsenal. The Redeemer (that weapon that fires a devastating missile killing everything in the area) is back. Again you can control its missile with pin-point accuracy, but at the same time it can be destroyed by any opponent if he can target it in time (then you’ll hear a voice saying “Denied!”). The second super weapon is the Target Painter, an auto-guided missile that follows the target you “paint” for destruction (only works on vehicles).

I think they've confused the Target Painter (a signal for calling in destruction of various kinds) with the AVRiL Longbow (laser-guided anti-vehicle missile launcher).

However, I predict that UT2004's Target Painter will not be back, and that the AVRiL's laser will do double duty for calling in special attacks.
