Just to let everyone know, the High Res (referred to as HD) version of Barcelona (Beta v0.9) has been released. The lower versions will be released soon. If you want to give the HD version a try, you may need to turn the texture quality down. It runs fine on my G5's but struggles a little on my G4's. Also seems to run fine on my P4 PC's and higher with a good card also. I have no way to test the MorphOS version. The better the video card, of course, the better the results.
All tracks that will be released separately will be v0.9 as the final release will have a few "changes" shall we say. Go to the downloads section for download.
Let me know if there are any problems.

The track works great on my G5 2.5GHz Dual with X800XT. I left all settings at maximum - 1680x1050 resolution. The new cars and textures make a real difference to the game. Surely VGP3 can't be that much better graphically?
I watched a lap of Barcelona on the F1 2006 review DVD and the only bits missing I could spot were the white line on the pit exit and the odd exit kerb like on Campsa corner (I think it just separates a service road on the left) - i.e. really minor stuff! I know this year they added a new chicane at the end of the lap but the 2006 version is more flowing and fun.
Your work is really excellent and the game is becoming what I had hoped for when I bought the CD home from the shop!

I have found that if I try to get absolute perfection, it will never get done. So I have decided to try to find a happy medium between time and detail. I think the end result will be good, but definitely not perfect.
As far as VGP3, the graphics used in VGPHD may be "better", but the game engine in VGP3 and the way it renders the objects on the screen is beautiful. VGP3, with the VGPHD graphics ported over and changed slightly to fit the new object mappings will look spectacular. But that will be while as the game is only a few tracks in.
VGPHD has turned into my little pet project and I want it to be what everyone hopes it will. And when it is finally finished, I hope it lives up to even my own expectations.

Great job on that Barcelona track upgrade Jason !!!
I've obtained very driveable FPS on my PowerBook G4 with Sony 26" TV/Monitor set at 1024X768, but had to also lower some of the game graphics options. I had your HiRes carset installed, so I'll download and try your Medium and Low Res carsets hoping this will allow me to run the track with higher graphic settings.
Thanks a lot for your excellent work
