'Cause the board software is buggy in that area, and they are taking a looooong time to fix it.

BTW, thats invision were talking about (im assuming), not Frigidman, who wouldve probably happily fixed it ages ago were it not for the fact that it would break the forum and take oodles of work when the next forum update came along.

Yeah, same kind of thing, but I can stay logged in for a few weeks. Then as NAG said, it logs itself out.

It's a bug in the IP Board software, Invision is aware of it. It hits dial up users more that others, but I still get it occasionally on DSL.

Hrm, I could swear I brought this up months ago last year. It all started last summer I think after a big update, and yet it seemed I was the only person mentioning it.

You mean, except for me complaining about it over and over until everyone got sick of it? There was a whole big thread on it.

I used to be able (by fiddling with the cookie) make the logged in period much much longer (or so I seem to recall). Now I'm required to re-login every three-four days or so.

There's not really any reliable pattern for me - sometimes I'll be good for a week, sometimes I've got to log in several times a day. I never actually bothered with Firefox's password remembering feature before, but IMG finally got me to use it. ;P

Logging in from other computers seems to really increase the problem. Sometimes it will stay logged in for both, but the majority of the time I have to log in in both places all over again.

Darn forum programmers anyway...I oughtta take over their jobs. (Mind you, the software wouldn't actually work any better, but at least it would have exploding flying pink ponies in it, so you'd be distracted from the bugs.)

I guess I must have missed that one, but then I guess you didn't spot the one I made either because all I had were folks telling me to refresh cookies. It's more than a little frustrating--not only does the browser not stay logged in, but the login blanks at the main site do not retain my passwords at all. If I hit the link to log in, instead, my login is remembered there, but for some incredibly strange reason it kept changing to the (completely different) login for my IMG Pro account if I had gone to the main site before coming to the forum. Not sure if that's been fixed yet but it did remember my forum login when I went there just now.
