Hey there I thought it would be a nice idea to put together a list of games you can play in VMware. Some people prefer Parallels (I used to but VMware is just so much better after beta 3).

I tried out some adventure games because I just love adventure games and there have been so many games we missed being on the Mac.

Here are some games I got working (also tried a heap that didn't work):

New Sam n Max games - Perfect
Runaway - Perfect
Discworld Noir - Perfect

Broken Sword 3 -playable but faces have small texture glitches
Crazy Taxi - Playable but small glitches in environment
GTA3 - Playable but texture errors with vehicle.

Thanks for the info! Sometime before the end of the year I'll have some decisions to make. :)

Thought I'd revive this topic, there must be more people interested in running these Windows only games without having to reboot into Windows.

I'm currently running Puzzle Quest in VMWare fusion in one space and my mac stuff in another space and it works out wonderfully. There is a small bug with the sound stuttering slightly with PQ but gameplay is perfect othervice.

At only $20 it's one of the best gaming purchases I've made in the last few years:

I'd like to know how the old C&C games run under VMWare and Fusion. I have a friend who just switched and that's his only desire. He has C&C 3 for Mac already, but also wants C&C Red Alert and the rest. I'd prefer to just run him under Crossover or VMWare. Parallels is not an option.

C&C through to C&C Red Alert 2 should all run ok, as theyre 2D. C&C generals, being 3D and pretty heavy, will probably drag everything down.
Polytetrafluoroethylene to my friends.

Macbook Pro - C2D 2.4Ghz / 4Gb RAM / WD Scorpio Black 320GB ( 255GB OSX v 42GB XP ) / Geforce 8600M GT 256Mb / 15.4"
Cube - G4 1.7Ghz 7448 / 1.5Gb RAM / Samsung Spinpoint 250GB / Geforce 6200 256Mb

We won! Apple offer the 17" with a matte screen! Well... at a price...

To resurrect this thread I just got Art Of Murder I and II and both run fine in VMWare:
