I couldn't wait so I bought it -> (GoW 1, never tried GoW 2, all my free time is eaten now by EVE-O) for the '(cough)box'.
Wasn't really that impressed, miniscule storyline, once again no way to move away from the laid out path except for 2 minor moments (linear games ftl) and the end boss.... I was like 'ghaaaa'  not this again and just never finished it.
The berserker was a shocker the first time, after that it became way too predictable. Graphics where very nice but it looked like one of those 'Roger Moore' 007 movies, nice cover but no body.

I didnt get it for '(snuff)box', but PC.
I liked the cover system in it, though for me, that's now been bettered by Killzone 2. And thought the story was half interesting if completely cliched. The graphics were pretty good for the time, but are now incredibly cliched thanks to UE3 and space marines continuing to pervade absolutely everything.

On all accounts I believe that Gears 2 was a decent improvement on everything but the gameplay which remained exactly the same.
Polytetrafluoroethylene to my friends.

Gears 2 wasn't really any better, I beat it on the 360 that I used to own. It has some interesting bits and some twists in the story but I didn't enjoy it any more then Gears 1. It felt like the developers tried to make it a lot more epic (no pun intended), but it really felt like the cliched epic story line. Your opening mission is saving a hospital, then you go off to invade the locust down in their tunnels, the story becomes so far fetched that it loses it epicness and starts to feel kind of dumb, cuz its trying so hard. That was my thoughts on the game, if you can decipher them. Oh and the multiplayer really wasn't any better then Gears 1, despite all of the hype.

I paid $70 for it, totally wasn't worth it (on the bright side they gave me $40 back on the trade in), It would be a nice rental for some co-op one night though

I felt the EXACT same way about Gears 2. Gears 2's multiplayer is much better overall (although the levels aren't quite as good), but Gears 1's story and single-player campaign I enjoyed far more than Gears 2's. I think a lot of that might have had to do with the fact that it actually felt real, and I felt like I was part of a small squad playing a small part in a huge war, and we just happened to end up at a very important part of the war later in the game.

Gears 2 feels like all of a sudden the squad becomes a bunch of epic supermen saving the universe and the story got so "epic" that suspension of disbelief became nearly impossible. Fell into the same hole that Halo 2 did after the superb delivery on Halo 1.

Iridium (MacBook Pro Mid-2012) – 2.7 GHz i7 3820QM / 16GB RAM / 2TB Samsung 850 Pro / GeForce GT 650M 1GB

Eric5h5:
When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

So you should, as you did not make any sense, unless you mean about the Gears thing, then… …well I cannot really say anything on that.

So, what's happening with UT 3 for Mac OS X?
I'm afraid it's too late anyway. I bought it on Steam for €8 a couple of weeks ago...

Don't know, none of us know. I think it is right now a lot like Duke Nukem Forever, and how that turned out.

I know Ryan Gordon said we wouldn't believe what the hold up really was. I hope one day we find out!

Perhaps we can guess it?

Lets see:
-The Angel Gabriel doesn't like macs, so he ordered Ryan to stop porting for a year.
-He successively got twelve paternity challenges which he is still fighting, since they're not actually his.

His posts mentioned an assistant, and he's on administrative leave for alleged interactions with her until such time as he's either cleared or indicted by a grand jury. Don't mess around in Texas :(
