Today I have leveled up Tesseract and given him the +25 Sword of Smiting and the +20 Shield of Warding. Tesseract now dons the Blessed Chest Plate of Bhutwhissle and the Shining Pants of Blood Sliding. He does however have to wear his own underpants.
Yes, Tesseract is now a forum moderator. You have been forewarned, those of you with families should send them to safety now. There will be no further warnings.

This is true. We would have to take the entire IMG network down to reboot it in order to reset Eric back to IMG startup greens.

No problem, I'll just roll you up a new character.
OK, seems like you've got 3 Strength, 4 Dexterity, 5 Intelligence, 4 Wisdom, 5 Consitution, and 17 Charisma. Interesting. I guess this means when you try to lift that tankard of ale you unwisely keep next to your computer, you end up dropping it on your keyboard, and fall over backwards in your attempt to prevent this from happening, and hit your head which knocks you out almost instantly, but through all this your hair looks absolutely fabulous and the chicks think your antics are cute. Could be worse!

Agreed. The fact that they're even using d10's anymore and such silly crap as hit points and "stats" instead of latching onto a more modern system like Wushu makes them such nerds. Let me put it this way ...
Spinning my off topic cloak of the deepish red around me like a swirling cloud (1), I leap to the top ledge of this thread (2) by throwing my knowledge of odd RPG systems into their eyes (3) while I draw my moonlit blade of gleaming Canadianess (4) in great sweeping circle from sea to shining sea (5) and arc it downwards trouncing all other socialist health care plans (6).

Not so. All those possessing near-impenetrable immunities to a wide range of damage types are required by law to be particularly vulnerable to at least one type of damage. All I have to do is figure out which one it is, probably by utilising clues in the environment or information given earlier in the adventure.

It appears to be a rolling moderation system. Every single member gets around a month of time as a moderator. Eventually they will get around to making all the spam bots and members with 0 posts moderators as well.

When Tuncer asked me to do this job I was under the impression that he didn't want to have to think about the forums, he wanted to run the business. So in the spirit of that, I almost never bother him with things concerning the forums. When I agree to do something I don't do it halfway, and I've put a lot of time and energy into making the IMG Forums a good place to hang out for as many different people as I can.
What if something happens to me? That would mean that Tuncer would again be saddled with taking time away from his business to tend to the forums, and that's a lot of work to do. What I am doing is cherry picking a few responsible and mature people who I think can put the health of the forums and IMG ahead of themselves, and training them on what I think an IMG forum moderator should be. It's a responsible business decision and I've always seen IMG as a business first.
It was a tough pick, this forum is one of the best I've been to and there are a LOT of excellent candidates. This will probably be all I select for training for the time being. I just wanted to make absolutely sure that there would be somebody trained and ready to take my place, and I'm trying to take into account that one or two of the guys might bug out between now and then.
Also, you only see one mod active at a time because I have a deep seated belief that the fewer moderators on a forum the better for the members. It gives you consistency between all the sub-forums and it gives you a reasonable expectation of the reactions and judgments from the guy in charge. This means a lot of work for that one person but it's worth it in the heightened quality of the experience you will have at the IMG Forums.
I plan to rotate Lord Brixton, Eric5h5 and Tesseract in and out on a continuing basis. Mostly it will just be me, but I want them to practice with and become familiar with the moderator tools, learn my style of moderating, develop their own version of it, and learn the ins and outs of the behind the scenes dramas that occur here.
And that's what you are seeing here.

I now understand all of the changing of moderators and everything else. I would have to agree that a small number of moderators sounds easier (for us guys, though maybe not for you) and better.
Thanks, Liberator.
P.S. If I got you annoyed or anything like that at all, sorry then.
