Who else enjoys Crumpets?

or if the subject of crumpets is one that will be completely
culturally divided, then what is every one elses favourite winter treats?

i love a nice warm set of crumpets with honey, and a hot chocolate or a warm chai Tea (Owns Eh Liberator?).

My mom used to make crumpets in mid-late June and we'd mash up a huge bowl of fresh southern Ontario strawberries and drizzle that all over the warm, buttered crumpets. :sabber:

I feel like an ass. I don't even know what a crumpet is. :P

As far as my favorite winter treat? Spaten Optimator or Oktoberfest with a Black Forest Torte. OMG yum.  :sabber:

Cold? C'mere* fer a minute, then talk to me about cold.

But yes, crumpets and honey are enjoyed here.

Though more culturally relevant winter treats would practically anything covered in maple syrup and/or poutine.

I like crumpets and scones, but I really like Mexican pastries.  They're not as sweet as typical pastries, and they go well with tea or coffee.

No, you're thinking of a strumpet.  A crumpet is a musical instrument much like a bugle only with valves.

You can't eat crickets unless you roast them first or cover them with chocolate. But in both cases, the exoskeleton still is too crunchy for me (and the legs have those little sharp barbs that make the chirping noise -- they hurt a bit going down).

I prefer scons to crumpets. I would have to say Huntn, it would be even better if the scones are recently baked, so when you cut the top off them, you see the steam rise while you slabber a good dose of jam ans cream. Now that with a nice hot drink. :sabber:
Sorry AMG, I would have to say I prefer my devonshire tea to your crumpets.

Oh my god i knew you would pull that one.

okay, basically what you are reffering to is the same thing. no they are not classified by different names.
but only a word modifier.

and i am about to own you right now. prepare for teh Ownage.

Chai: itself is a spiced tea mix, containing chai leaves, and is usally prepared as a tea. depending on different cultures, in different ways Eg. some cultures such as that of Indians, enjoy their mix fresh with boiled water(the "Chai" you speak of) and in others

Many Western commercial preparations such as Oregon Chai are strongly flavored with vanilla and honey, with other flavors far less dominant. This results in a far mellower, "cozier" beverage than most Indian masala chais, with a markedly different flavor.
so now the other definition
