I'm in a room of glass.  There is another bay window just to the right of the one you see directly behind me.  The window on the left is a sliding glass door out onto the screened in patio and backyard.  (You can see the server for the Battle Cat's Litterbox on the patio)  If you've heard me complain about how bright the room is for playing games, see for yourself why I whine about that.  I had to wait until morning to get the shot, otherwise the sun shines directly into the room by the afternoon.  The main computer is in the dining room.  There is another computer in my den that my wife uses and I keep as the emergency backup.  I'll add a photo of that too if requested.

I kinda know what you feel about whining and the sun reflection in the afternoon, but I don't. Anyways good picture and I feel the pain. The only thing with me is that the sun comes from the other direction and shines into my eyes.
Your demand is my command, see attached.  I tried to play net Marathon once at a Kinkos sitting in front of a huge window with the sun shining in.  It was boiling hot that day too and by the time we were done playing I was a gritty, sweating, and half blind!  I had my reflection in the monitor the whole time and tried to sit so that the darkest parts of me were on the action filled part of the screen.  It's not fun being you.

True on both counts but ever since my mother-in-law died and we inherited her junk we have a TV in almost every room.  This however is a new one that we watch on weekends while we eat lunch.

I've got a bunch more, they are in a number of windows plus a bunch more stored in the garage.  When I lived in a cabin up in the mountains the phone company went down the train tracks and swapped out all the old glass resistors for newer ceramic ones.  They just threw them down on the gravel service road.  A friend and I hopped into a pickup truck and scooped up all the ones that weren't broken, then split them.

And now as promised, the Southern Command Station deep in the protected core of the Battle Cat's lair is the backup computer.

This thread really should be titled, "Pictures of shelving units." :P

I'd show a picture myself, but I don't really want to display my bookshelf. ;)

Don't you wanna display your bookshelf because it isn't the right type of shleving? :P
Well, at least you don't sleep with anything bigger SHODAN, because otherwise it would be a bit (physically) awkward for you wouldn't it?

P.S. tbC, your back-up computer is behind the desk/shelf/cabinet thing, isn't it? Or I am just completely stupid?

Yes.  On one side of the room to the left is my fossil and meteorite collection on the shelves, next is a bag of old MacAddicts I haven't stashed permanently yet, then comes my roll-top desk, the boxes to the right of the desk behind the chair contain some of the 7100/66 computer system I'm not using.

The computer itself is on the opposite side of the room, it wouldn't fit in the roll-top.  Instead the monitor and CD burner is on a drafting table laid flat that I used to use to design and create flying balsa wood models.  The G4 itself is to the left of that table and off the ground on a single tier of a stackable shelf system.

In both of my photos I set the camera on top of the monitor to mimic a Photo Booth cam and took the picture.

But more onto topic, I will shortly describe to you my room my G5 is in (from the perspective of the non-existent built in iSight)...:
  • My G5 sits on a (short width) desk
  • In the foreground is a bed
  • Straight after that (in the center) is a poster of Bruce Lee
  • Next to the poster (on the left) are two cupboard doors
  • Next to the poster (on the right) is a bookcase/bedside table
  • Above the poster is a light, and resting on that is a 'Round-about' sign
  • To the right of the 'Round-about' sign is a 'Narrow Bridge' sign
That is all from me (for now), Liberator.

P.S. If you guys pester me enough, I will remember to get round to (not being lazy enough) to take a picture of what I described to you guys.

Everywhere I worked as a programmer gave me a name plate, I actually saved one of them.  It's not so much to remind me of who I am (though it helps in the morning before the first cup of coffee), it is more to remind me never to work those kind of jobs again.

Oh, come on, you can't fool me.  I know very well that the lure of lines of code like
for(g=0[f=(char *)calloc(80+(h=atoi(1[k])),1)]=1; g<=h; g++) {
is too much for you to resist much longer.

Where do you think I got that line of code from.  ;)  I would never code such a thing...although I did write this yesterday:

function Get3DBezierPoint(p1 : Vector3, p2 : Vector3, p3 : Vector3, t : float) {
	return Vector3( (p1.x*(1-t)*(1-t)+2*p2.x*(1-t)*t+p3.x*t*t),
					(p1.y*(1-t)*(1-t)+2*p2.y*(1-t)*t+p3.y*t*t),
					(p1.z*(1-t)*(1-t)+2*p2.z*(1-t)*t+p3.z*t*t) );
}

But even then I didn't write the Bezier curve algorithm (p1*(1-t)*(1-t)+2*p2*(1-t)*t+p3*t*t); I just ripped it off the web somewhere and plugged it in without really understanding it...all I care about is that it works....

I was sitting there trying to figure out just what that line is actually supposed to do. I think it allocates some memory based on the value of a character in an array, and then iterates over the memory space. I suddenly feel inadequate after reading it. ;)

By the way, what language did you write that last function in? I can't seem to place it.

Javascript, but as used by Unity.  Which is a lot better than ordinary Javascript.  There are a few things I miss from some other languages, but overall it's the most fun I've had programming in ages.
