I have finished the High resolution (1024X1024) Official F1 car updates along with a new macchinine.config file with 'somewhat' more updated drivers. Some liberties were taken to make the incar view look better. Play it in a high resolution and enjoy the car scenery. New car textures, new steering wheel high res texture along with all new wheel textures. But make sure your computer can handle it. It will bog a slower computer down. Download the zip file from the frontpage of my site... SiniScope

Also, thanks to 'Smatchy' of Race Sim Central for the original files.

Here are a few pics...

I am going to assume that no one else is really playing this game anymore. Even the official site is gone. But it really is a great Mac F1 game. The simulation is really good and with a Momo wheel and FFB, it absolutely rocks.

Waiting to hear from Paolo Cattani about a possible VGP3. Here's to hoping.

Great looking cars. Impressive!!!

I had the demo at one time and it ran pretty good on my G3 PowerBook with OS9 but the sound was horrible... nowhere near that of an engine. I tried the demo once again when I got my G4 PB but the OS X app refused to load... so I trashed it.

The sound isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination (I would love to change the sound), but it sure sounds better than F1 CS 2000. I have updated all of the cars and some of the engine sounds in F1 CS 2000 also, but still sounds bad. At least VGP2 has a clean sound, especially at th start when all the cars are on the grid and taking off.

VGP2 is my Favorite Mac racing game simply because the simulation is good and the control with a wheel is superb!

Well done JaguarGod, this is a really great game. I hope Cattani will come back at work on the series ...

Yeah, me too. He did such a great job on the control and gameplay that I know a VGP3 would rock. The game just fell beneath most racers radars.

JaguarGod, I've found another VGP2 demo and this OS X version ran OK on my G4 PB (previous one must have been corrupted). The sound is much better than with the classic version I had tried on my G3 PB.

I noticed you have a Black Momo Racing wheel like mine and wondered if you've made a special config file for it. No matter what I try I'm stuck with driving via the keyboard even with the XFFB version of the app. Can you please help somehow?

I have finished all of the Official F1 car updates. New textures are now in 256X256, 512X512 or 1024X1024. New car, steering wheel and tire textures. This will really help some of the older macs with older video cards, especially in 256X256.

The file contains all three sets of textures.
1. 256X256
2. 512X512
3. 1024X1024

Download the new .zip file from my website.
