I played that game MANY times on an old Mac Plus. I have to say it was pretty good at the time.

Would I buy it now? Hum... I doubt. Not sure. The demo would have to hook me in a way or another. But I don't feel the urge to try it out.

On the other hand a new game inspired by Dark Castle, a Tomb Raider style game, would be pretty cool.  :nods:

I played Return to Dark Castle on my old Fat Mac!  I remember it as being a lot of fun but when I got frustrated, I'd take prince Duncan down into the sewer pipes and make him stand up over and over.  He hit his head on the pipe and would just pound his fists on the ground in pain.  I have pretty much burned out on "jumping puzzle" games since then.  But I still have the old game in it's original box sitting proudly on a shelf.

PS: Jon God, I changed the img tag to a url tag in your sig.  Sorry for the hassle, but from the part of the sig I removed asking if it was OK, I'm sure you will understand.

I wonder if it will ever come out. There doesn't seem to have been any activity on the page for more than one year. Would be a shame if it's dead.

That's good news. I like those old school games.

I don't know.  Zsculpt has some pretty pictures of it but it looks like the exact same game only now in color.  Am I looking at the same game?  Return to Dark Castle 3?

This Game:

http://zsculpt.com/w...stle3/index.php

it may look the same, and the reason for that, is the fact the in includes the 26 or so levels from the first two games, but overall it has around 80 from what I hear, plus a level editor. And Pretty Graphics.

That's the site I visited earlier.  I downloaded the demo this morning.  I'll give that a shot this afternoon.

okie dokie, though, I'd say their latest beta isn't as stable as some of their older ones, it's still a fun play. Don't worry they've already fixed the bugs from this beta for later ones.

Ack.  Now I remember why I used to take Prince Duncan down into the sewers and make him bash his head on the pipes.  I'm really not into jumping puzzles any more.  Plus the game crashed a number of times but worse than that, it reset all of my Exposť hot keys to nothing.  I had to go back into System Preferences and reset them.

I'm going to let this game beta mature for a while before I try it again.  I really did get into this game way back when.

Yeah, Like I said, the latest Beta isn't the most stable, yet I have been informed that all the bugs present in this release aren't around anymore, so it should be more fun once the next beta comes out. I'll never get tired of good old Dark Castle :)

I'm not generally a big fan of these games, but Midnight Mansion was a lot of fun, so I'll probably try Dark Castle when it gets released.  It's been in the pipeline for an awful long time, though.
