Hi there
Here's a quick bit of background on my gaming history so you'll know where I am coming from.

Last game played - 4 years ago Marathon Infinity!

Most gaming experience - that tennis one with the white verticle lines and makes the sound bip-bop!

Okey dokey this is my fist post so please be gentle.

I've got - MacBook 1.83GHz jobbie that I stonked up to 1gig ram. I purchased a CH Products Fighterstick and I want to fly around shooting bastards out of the sky.

I have a 40" Samsung LCD that I can plug in via mini DVi through S vid.

Can you please recommend me some flight games? I know this macbook is not ideally suited to this but hey>>>

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Jason

Prepare to be disappointed.  Flight sims are hard to find in general, and have been dying out on the Mac for some time.  But this thread has some suggested titles: http://www.insidemac...showtopic=22616

It's not my area of expertise, but I'd imagine some of the older Windows flight sims woudl run OK on your rig using Bootcamp...

PowerBook G4 1x1.67ghz / 1gb RAM / Radeon mobility 9700 128 / 15" LCD

No there shouldn't be any problems in running that.

Maybe there could be. Not because of the MacBook itself, but due to MacOS X 10.4.6 or .7. There seem to be quite a lot of people that experience really crap framerates (5 fps or lower) after this system patch. At least GraphSim is looking into it.

I'd say it's safer.

You know we are talking about a patch for F/A-18 OIF?

Wingnuts2 is a great fun game, but it's in no way a flight sim!

Warbirds is an MMO flight sim with a decent amount of offline content, considering the download price (nothing). World war 2, so it's ballsy cannons instead of cowardly missiles.

Massively Multiplayer Online. Basically an arena filled with live pilots, in a constant battle over airfields and towns. There's a monthly fee to play online, however unlike most MMO games there's a decent amount to do offline, practice flights, a mission designer, and a few instant action missions. I used to run it passably on an 800mhz G4 with Rage 128 with 16MB of RAM.

Website is here.. Going by the forums, you may have trouble getting it to run intel-native, though I imagine the bugs will be sorted eventually.

No biggie, the filter caught it, but the filter only has a couple words in it.  We depend more on the common decency of folks to not swear than we do trying to catch every instance of it with a huge bank of filters.  The cooperation you just displayed is much appreciated!   :)
