CodeWeavers has released Beta 2 of CrossOver Mac, software which allows Intel Mac owners to run Windows XP programs without the need to install a copy of Windows. Beta 2 includes a variety of updates and changes, including many improvements to game support.

Here are a few of the changes in Beta 2:

- Dramatic performance improvements -- startup time, bottle creation and a few install processes should be much faster.
- Fixed switching to full-screen mode so the screen does not go all black.
- Many improvements to game support. Should install and run World of Warcraft and Half-life via Steam.

I'm confused. Why would anyone want to install the Windows version of WoW on a Mac and run it under CrossOver?  The mac native version comes on the Hybrid WoW CDs.

To test compatibility? To compare it to the OSX version?

But don't all Blizzard games run the same whether it be under Mac or PC?
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
