So, I drive my new BMW M3 at Monza.
I am close to passing a guy, I pass him at the corner, and immediately break.
SLAM!
He slams into my rear end, for which I lose control, I get trrown at the end of the field, and HE get pissed at me!
So the next time that I try to pass him, he tries to push me into the dirt, and HE gets even more pissed at me!

You know, in most motorsport, that I know of at least, it is common practice, that if two cars are following one another, and the first car slows down to get into a corner, the other slows down too!

It just doesent stop to amaze me how poorly made the drivers in Total immersion racing are.
Its like fighting against spolied brats, they hit you and feel that they should hit you again.

I cant belive that noone, during the development of the game, though that "maybe this is not such a good idea", "maybe it might not work out the way we wanted it to"

The "automatic catch up" (where seamilngly slow cars suddenly catch up to you) is bad enough, but this.. baah!!

I wish there was a way to hack it. :(

(just wanted to vent my frustration)

Just remember, the other drivers aren't getting pissed at you. They're just code. They'll ruthlessly do all sorts of things with a completely blank expression on their virtual faces, feeling nothing, nothing.... ;)

By "getting pissed" I think he's refering to Total Immersion's system on how other drivers react to the player, returning bump for bump and giving payback later on.

:whistling:

No honestly, the drives dont care what you do on the track.
Passing on straights acceptable, as you can avoid them, as long as you are alot faster so that thy cannot try to ram you off the road, but when you pass someone on a turn, they act as if you werent there, they just slam into you, and more often than not, send you out of the track or make you spin.

In some instaces where I was stationary on the track (say recovering from the spins mentioned..) the next AI driver simply rams me with full force, eventhough the track is wide enough for him to avoid me.

Right now, I have had it with that behavior, I play the game like my friends play Gran Turismo, if there is a guy infornt of me, and we are aproching a turn, I simply ram him of the road kamikaze style. He does not get any more or less pissed at me than if I overtook him in the conventional way, as he would undoubtedly hit me at the exit, and get pissed.

I also not understand why someone in a different class than me would want to ram me three times on the same S courve, just to go to the pits in the next bend.

A.I. Tude my rear end.
...Oh wait, that is actually what is happening...

Hold on to your driving wheel; if you are not too old you might still be alive and functional when Colin Mc Rae Rally is released.

If you try the "grand turismo classic move" of diving up the inside and locking up infront of someone,
leaving them no time but to hit into you back then the AI will be annoyed as you dived into his braking gap causing an accident.

Granted I cannot tell what you do but I cannot recall cars ramming you unless you left it too close on a corner or you had previously annoyed them. This game you should drive closer to real life than arcade when it comes to braking and overtaking. i.e. Don't steal someones tarmac and expect them to be happy, think if you where the AI car and you had someone make the move you just made would you be mad?

It is also common practise to not cut people up when they are braking into a corner etc etc. The whole point of the game is that the AI drivers can be annoyed or bullied into mistakes, they are supposed to get angry, oh and finally you don't need to hit them to annoy them, if you are overly aggressive they will get annoyed as well.

If you drive smooth and without incident you can disappear into the distance.

I can understand you are upset but what you describe is just the AI of the cars hading back what they feel they have been given. Also cars in other classes will get annoyed if you ruined their class race they will be more than happy to repay the favour.

If you have any specific issues that you think are bugs let us know via support but what you decsribe here appears to me to be down to your driving style not the game AI acting up.
