Is it possible to add in BB Code commands? Can we add in a Rant feature? It could be like the Quote/Code feature, but would be labeled as a rant. Also make one for scarcasm, or a joke.

Just an idea

Yes it's possible, I know where and how to do it, but are they really needed?  You would have to talk me into it and be convincing while you are at it.

How about if I give you a dollar?  A really shiny, silver dollar.

[sarcasm]But seriously, this would be a totally worthwhile feature.  My life isn't complete without it.[/sarcasm]

On a less sarcastic and caustic note, I think it would be totally cool if there were a way to detect sarcasm online (I get myself into a lot of trouble because there isn't), but I think that labeling something with text as a rant or whatever on your own is probably enough; adding it as a feature to the forum would be an interesting novelty item, but I doubt it would be used much.

Are you sure we don't need/want it? What sort of problems would it cause if it was used?

Sure, some people may not want to use it, but I think somthing like that should be there for people who want to use it.

[Very Serious]

Do NOT add HTML. I spent some time last year studying security issues. I don't know if IPB handles HTML in the safest or most secure manner or not; but, I really suggest that you don't take the chance.

Don't worry, HTML in the forums is not even on the table.  We are discussing the BBCode.

Let's face it, there are no compelling reasons.  Some people don't even get sarcasm in real life, so the cause is hopeless.  Those who get it, get it.  And those who don't, don't (and are losers--oops, what was that?).
