Ambrosia Software recently released Escape Velocity: Nova 1.0.10, a minor update to Ambrosia popular space game. EV Nova thrusts you into a sprawling universe dominated by a myriad of warring factions, each sharing a common bond, but so philosophically different as to make conflict
inevitable.

Here's a list of changes:

• corrected problem that could cause a crash when clicking on an empty square in the ship selection window
• improved handling of compressed PICT resources in plugin files
• changed some beam handling logic so that multiple fast firing beams cause the correct amount of damage
• improved collision detection when using rle8/rle16 resources
• updated the Windows Register program to address a graphical glitch
To download EV: Nova 1.0.10, head over to Macgamefiles.com.

Good to see support is still coming.

Can anyone tell me how well it runs in Rosetta?

It is not going to happen. EVN was the last in the series.

EVOnline is next. Or at least in a perfect world it would be.

Oei! I hope not.
I rather would hope for some deeper experiance. Like going into a bar you're "realy" in that bar, a bit styled like 'Roger Wilco Space Quest IV' but with nicer graphics.
Or compleet emerging 3D with awesome graphics like 'EVE', but that's probably too much for Ambrosia.

Meh, I just play EVE to get the spacey feeling.

EVNova was good... Untill you finished all 6 storylines.
Bored and such.

No, it was good past those, believe me, in all 3 EVs (especially Override), there are all kind of things you can do, huge amounts of plug-ins, and such, me and a friend once had a race to see who could take over the whole galaxy in Override the fastest on strict play, without escape pods, I won, I took over the Voinians, then went in a full circle taking things over until I landed right back in the UE, and ripped through them with my phase cannons.
Of course, in Override, once a person got good with the Arada, there was no point in any other ship, it is possible to kill Igazdras in a plain Arada with only a phase cannon.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I'd like EVOnline to be like "EVE Lite" ... give it a real working economy like EVE (only simpler), keep it 2D, watch out for roving fleets of bad guys blowing up your freighter! :)
