Spiderweb Software has officially announced the upcoming release of Geneforge 4: The Rebellion. Expanding on the success of previous Geneforge titles, G4 puts player in the role of a rebel who must choose to join with or fight against the powerful Shapers.

You are a rebel, given the power to craft life and sent to fight the Shapers. At least, that is what they told you to do. Will you fight your oppressors? Or will you be tempted by the incredible rewards they offer you in return for switching sides? You have the ability to steer history. What will you choose?

Geneforge 4: Rebellion has a huge and open storyline. You can choose among several sides, each with its own beliefs, fortresses, and quests. There are dozens of different endings. You can help the rebels, or fight them. Slay your enemies or use stealth and diplomacy. Become engrossed in the storyline or just go out and wreak havoc. No matter what you choose, Geneforge 4 offers an enormous adventure with plenty of replay value.
Geneforge 4: The Rebellion is scheduled for release in late 2006 and requlres at least OS 8.1, 50 MB of RAM, and 150 MB of hard drive space.

Crazy, a game that still runs on our Bondie Blue iMac. I just hope it doesn't have any problems in Roseta if it isn't a UB.

Spiderweb Software games generally take so little processing power, I doubt you'll even notice if it's not Universal (it probably won't be; if I remember correctly, Vogel traditionally codes in CodeWarrior or something similarly non-XCode, and I'm not sure if he ever switched over).

I'm kind of excited for this game.  I love the Geneforge series.

Speed of course wouldn't be an issue, but unfortunately Rosetta doesn't emulate PPC 100% correctly (it makes a few programs buggy when the same program is fine--or at least less buggy--running natively), so I think the question is about bugs rather than speed.  No way to know except by trying it when it's out....
