It's really not enjoyable when a game you've enjoyed very much ends so suddenly and frustratingly - is there anybody out there who plays / has played Indiana Jones / Emperor's Tomb and would be so kind as to pass me a cheat for this ... octopus? I've tried several forums seemingly around the globa already and nobody seems to have taken a liking to that game, i.e. there's no help in form of cheats or whatever up to now. That's why I#m desperately trying to convince somebody to mail me their saved games, preferably those beyond the octopus at the end of level 3 / Istanbul. Anybody willing to help? Anybody?

Hm. I vaguely remember the octopus, but I don't recall it being that difficult to beat. Sure, I may not have gotten past on the first try, but it still shouldn't be a game-breaker. Unfortunately, I can't really remember how I beat it. I think it has something to do with the columns having to crash upon it... and always shooting down the things (whatever they may have been) the octopus sends your way. That's the best I can do, right now. It's been a while since I've played that game. And I never do cheats, even if that leads to me being frustrated.

You "zoom in" and shoot the eyes. Shoot them enough and he goes away and you are fine.
I did it in the second attempt, first attempt I was like "WTF?!?!?!" and died. Then I figured it out and killed it pretty easy.
I don't have any of the saved games anymore, sorry...

Thanks but all these things you've recalled I knew already. I know what to do but it doesn't work anyway. And its not after the first failure that I call for help believe me. THese sucking jellyfish or whatever they are are the problem - I cannot shoot them since I need the ammunition for that octopus thing and if I don't do anything against them they work against me and I am sucked into that octopus. For us (many of my friends have tried already, we even play six-handed) it really is unbeatable and we are losing interest. So if there are not any savegames beyond the Atlantic INdy must die.
Thanks anyway.

It took me (and friends) ages to figure it out aswell but there are a number of tactics you can try and two of them are described here:
http://indianajones....walkthrough.php
After beating the octopussy or kracken as it's called, the game gets harder and harder to a point thats just ridiculous to me so I just uninstalled the game.
There are also cheats you can use but they didn't do me any good as I would get stuck in the bottom of some abyss still alive while I should've dropped dead.
Anyways, goodluck

Hey, Pegasus don't you have any savedgames of Indy then? Seems as if you were the one and only around here having solved this tricky game. Would be very nice if you helped us along. And I promise as soon as I see that the oncoming opponents are too heavy I'll quit anyway.

Same with mine. Long gone. I even had gotten every artifact that fills the shelves. It wasn't a very difficult game really, as I recall... just really dissapointing.

It's the toughest game I've played but I did finish it. Kracken really was tough but nothing compared to having to outrace the boulder (or whatever it was. It's been a couple of years) while jumping the chasms using the whip to swing over others. Took me a full week. Although I could only go about an hour or so a night because it was just too intense.

greetings,
i bought this game befor switching to leopard. i expected aspyr (transgaming made the port) to release a leopard fix, but as you see 50$ for nothing:
there is only a small market for mac-games and they are not able to support such few versions.
i would like to give it back to aspyr and get my 50$ again.

«Thank you for contacting Aspyr Tech Support!
Unfortunately Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb was not developed for Mac OS X 10.5.1 Leopard.
Games that were developed for a previous Mac OS, as this one was, may have many problems running on Mac OS X 10.5.1 Leopard. Unlike PC operating systems the Macintosh operating systems have video card driver and other updates built in, and this can cause problems we cannot immediately fix. Thus, this game is not supported on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. We will be working diligently with Apple to get these issues resolved if possible. Please keep in mind that there are some things that can only be fixed by Apple, and we will be in direct contact with them to fix the issues that can be fixed. Please feel free to let us know of any problems you are having relating to our games and their ability to operate in Leopard. It will take some time for us working with the new OS and our customers to identify issues and make the necessary patches as needed.»
