Torcs new port to MacOSX
#1
Posted 14 June 2006 - 12:22 AM
Torcs is a free open source racing sim, previously only for linux and windows. It has now been ported to MacOSX by members of Project Magma, and though there's more work to do (both on the port and the game) it is fully playable.
If anyone would like to check it out I'd be very interested to hear what you think of the game.
cheers

Crashes on Leopard
Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately I don't have access to Leopard so I can't debug it. I have put together a universal binary and it is now available:

If it has the same problem, let me know. I will also be making the XCode project available soon, that way, if any Leopard users are interested, they can try to build a working package.

Yeah, looks great from what I can see, not much yet, as I am downloading. Will report back with a nice little gameplay review thing.

As my above post said. I have reported back on the gameplay and everything of the game.
I really like how the game doesn't take a huge knowlegde of racing games or a huge skill to play it, all you need is the "wasd" and that is basically it. I like how there are a very nice amount of tracks and cars to use. The only downside is that I wish the graphics were a bit better, other than that. I love it. Absolutely great.
8/10 for me.

Thanks for the feedback. What version of OS X did you run this with? Intel or PPC? I would like to know if anyone is able to run this with Leopard.
I was able to run this on Intel and PPC machines running Tiger but I do not have access to Leopard.

Well, I am running an iMac G5, with a 2 GHz processor, on the latest version of Tiger. Also, for later reference, don't worry about having to bother to post to find out, yo will only need to look as far as my signature...
