Macgamestore.com has begun to take pre-orders for X-Plane 8 Deluxe, which contains 7 DVDs and is the first version of X-Plane that is a Universal Binary. It is available for pre-order for $59.95.

This really is an amazing product, even if you're not into realistic flight sims. Just flying around a little in all the aircraft is fun--super-realistic. I'm fond of the Blackbird.

They should connect with Google Earth in some way :)

One comment to the new scenery containing the entire world: this is false advertising!

"The Global-Scenery coverage is actually the same of the Shuttle SRTM mission (between 60°North and 54°South of latitude) that's about 80% of all the land on the Earth"

The above is quoted from http://www.global-scenery.org/ and the coverage of the DVDs is also shown with a world map picture. The part that it covers is really great, but anything above or below those latitudes is water world.
