I second this list, while adding Caesar IV, Neverwinter Nights 2, and The Witcher to the future games list. :)

Yeah, Caesar IV is on my list too. And IL2 series but it only plays in windowed mode via Boot Camp as it flips upside down if you try full screen (weird bug).

Yes, and those don't work very well.

When I get an Intel Mac, my allegiance will be to native Mac games first and foremost, unless something just has no hope of making it.

That said... I saw no racing games mentioned, and I know those are scarce on OS X to date. FWIW, I noticed "World of Need For Speed" at MicroCenter: a $19 4-pack of Need For Speed games including Underground and Hot Pursuit 2. Not the latest and greatest, but they're fun on PS/2 and the price is right. Also, I was curious and went a Googlin', and all 4 games do support widescreen resolutions--although most of them require a hack to make it happen.

I hate black bars alongside games, and I like that Mac games have supported true widescreen for years. It sounds a little more hit-or-miss on the Windows side, or maybe they're just more vocal about it :)

Universal I can't help you with   ( EDIT: it looks like a Universal patch for CoD may be coming:
http://forums.macrum...ad.php?t=188694 )

But I think you CAN play CoD widescreen on Mac. Check out the game's Readme and the tips here (remember to edit both cfg files, not just one):

Back on-topic... I might also be eyeing Need For Speed Most Wanted on my Intel Mac. Older NFS games are cheaper, but the graphics on the newest one (and the police chases) look great.

I've grabbed a few older games that I've wanted to play but they were/are PC only.  My list includes:

Temple of Elemental Evil
Syberia I & II
Still Life
Everquest II
Post Mortem

I doubt these will ever be ported.

I've simplified my list somewhat now that my new 20" has arrived and is up and running well (despite the fact that I forgot to back up about 150 custom Photoshop brushes which I now have to rebuild, d'oh!) ...

Here's the list including near future releases ...

Rome Total War
Winning Eleven 9 (Pro Evolution 5)
CivCity: Rome
Titan Quest (with editor!!!!)
Pirates!

Galatic Civilizations II Dread Lords
Oasis (shareware from Mind Control)

Raven 27" i3 iMac 3.2GHz | 12GB RAM | 1TB HD | 512MB 5670 ATI Radeon HD
Crow iPad 2 | 32GB WiFi

Has anyone tried Star Wars Galaxies on their Mac?  I downloaded the free trial and I'm running it on my new MacBook.  It's playable and suprisingly smooth most of the time.  However, it has crashed frequently, so much so that I doubt I'll sign up for a monthly subscription.
