I could find any information on this piece of seemingly "controversial" software so I thought I would post my findings.
I went ahead on bought it for $25 since no other x86 emulator seems to be available for native Intel Macs *and* be able to install and run Windows XP effectively.
I initially purchased an older version then 2.1.2 and the provided tutorial was completely out dated and did not work at all. This new version has updated docs and worked fine.
First let me say that *installing* XP was extremely slow, maybe 3-5 hours, I forgot to time it presicely and I was multitasking so your mileage may very. That said, they recommended installing without "Dynamic Translation" which meant running under MacBochs.
Once installed I switched on the "Dynamic Translation" (Qemu) and booted the virtual machine. Windows XP booted in under 30 seconds and worked well. It was obviously slow and definitely not "native speed" but it was definitely usable.
So there you have it! I was impressed with the overal speed once it was installed and hope we can except even better out of Qemu, GuestPC, and VirtualPC.

Qemu? OpenOSX is skanky.
Aye!
"Open"OSX is based on Qemu which is free and has a much better interface.
I am currently installing XP with it, as I occasionaly need to access IE6 and test smallish business apps, most of which are Win only.
You can also play ancient games like MOO2 with it.

Well I couldn't find a version of Qemu that would run on Intel Macs (without Rosetta) and also install and run Windows XP...
If there is one please let me know where to find it! I've been monitoring Q.

Get the latest unstable version and be sure to read the FAQ,etc.
There are still issues with the installation of XP,it works for most people though.
