Look a few topics below..."Will Wright's SPORE."  Also shows up if you click on "search" and type in "spore."  :)  I'd expect this topic to be merged, but it's certainly a worthy topic.  At the very least, it should make a killer "sandbox" game, where you can just mess around for a while and see what sort of things you can come up with.

And merged it is!  (Good thing that despot Eric didn't do this merge or we'd all be wading through entrails right about now)

There's also an "official" trailer out for it now.

Hope that's not the music they're going to include with it.

And I don't know why everyone gets a kick out of picking on poor "cows" all the time...

That Joystiq video with Robin Williams is hilarious. And the game looks very, very awesome.

How popular is Spore? Today's Toronto Star (Sunday) had the whole front page of one section and a whole inside page on it.

It's getting lots of buzz, especially for a game that's not scheduled for (PC) release until late 2007.

Spore Pushed Back To Second Half Of 2007 >> 10:18 AM - John JCal Callaham

GameSpot has posted up a new Q&A with Maxis' head man Will Wright who gives a development update on Spore, their upcoming and long awaited evolution sim game. Wright talks about plans to allow the public demo the game at the Leipzig Games Convention later this month. Even though the game will be in playable form, it apparently is still at least a year away from being released. At the end of the Q&A Wright is quoted as saying about Spore's release date, "We're saying the second half of next year [2007] for now."

What are we looking at for the Mac version. And what type of system are we going to need to play the games.

no one has any idea, as far as i know.  It's still a long way off, and from the sound of it, it could be even longer if they so choose.
