We're down to a couple bugs we're trying to fix, so it's getting close!

At this point I'm more interested and concerned with when the expansions will be patched.  Seriously, who plays Sims 2 vanilla anyway?  ;)

From my post on page one of this thread:
"We'll have to do three separate patches, so Sims 2 will come first, followed by University and Nightlife shortly after"

sometimes you guys make me sick.

<RANT>
GLENDA is doing everything she can to get this stuff out.  It's not like she's pulling a Macplay and SAYING it's in the works, but really they haven't even started...

Sometimes you guys treat porting houses like restauraunts... and i think they deserve alot more credit that this.  We're lucky to be getting UBs at all!  Especially considering that soon Aspyr could be forced to strictly make console/pc games...

Personally, when i think about the fact that Aspyr is willing to dump resources into a game that they have already completed, just to help the 3% of Mac gamers who have intel Macs, i realize that it is because they care about us on a level unparralled by any other porting house.

so hold your "sup glenda! wheres my sims2 UB?  it's been a few days since i asked".  Damn!  you don't even know how lucky you are to have a communication avenue with her!  Do you know of any other software publisher where you can ask the head-dude/dudette and lead programmer questions regularly?

guys, just shutTF up.  They don't need reminders, but maybe some respect and thanks.

Hey converted, Dude... this is not the place to let your personal demons loose. If I were a moderator I'd boot you.
Be careful addressing everyone in a forum in that manner, very careful.

My post was friendly, unlike yours, and took time to personally thank Glenda, who as you correctly pointed out is a rare and valuable asset to have here on the boards.

So... where is that update?

Last known bug was fixed this morning (thank David, our Sims 2 Intel programmer!), and we just have to let QA verify all is well.  It may be ready to go as soon as tomorrow.

I don't think he was addressing you or anyone here personally, more the ATTITUDE of the forum in general.  He could have said it a little more civilly, that for sure.  It seems to both converted2truth and myself that the "gimmie gimmie gimmies" outweigh the "Thanks!" and Aspry deserves a LOT of thanks for the personal touch of coming here and giving updates if nothing else.

I have a question. If you have University, you'll have to wait for the University patch, won't you? This patch just released won't work with the expansion pack, will it?

Thanks for everyone's hard work at Aspyr! ^_^ *hug*

This is correct.  This patch is only for the original vanilla game without any expansions.  The wait continues for those of us that use the expansions.  I'm sure my wait will be even longer as I've now upgraded to Nightlife.

Don't play Sims 2 but 55,000 downloads in 18 hours?  Wow.

Actually I don't think that is just the last 18 hours.  Those numbers include all previous downloaders of the first 3 patches.  Still a lot of people though.  Looks more like 2,600+ since the new patch was released.

Yes.  As long as you're running vanilla Sims 2.  This patch includes fixes to the original game and not just UB support.  Which makes it even more good that it's out. :)

So should everyone install the patch even if they have Uni or NL? Or were those bugs mentioned fixed with the EPs?
(I don't have an Intel mac -- yet)   ;)
