[George the Flea]

Now that Heroes V is announced for Mac, I'm feeling in the mood for a little Heroes.  I've played III extensively, but am thinking about trying IV again, since someone mentioned that with the 2.3 patch it's a bit better.  Does anyone know where I can find a copy of this patch?  Versiontracker's link is broken, Apple's leads to MacGameFiles, which is broken, and the classic HoMM III strategy site's link leads to a dead .Mac homepage.  Thanks for any help you can give me!

Edit: I am foolish.  After poking around a little more after posting, I found out that the Heroes IV 2.3 patch was included on the MacGameFiles CD #11.  By a strange coincidence, that is one of the six MacGameFiles CDs that I have after a brief stint as a subscriber, and I had just earlier today put them in the trash since I have never used them after the first time when I got them.

I think this means that some higher power is laughing at me right now.  Fortunately, the trash hadn't gone out, and I now have the file.  If anyone else wants it (ever), just PM me and I'll wing it your way.

but alas, my fate is long sealed. after she took me to gaming hell and left me there to rot for eternity, i sank that rust bucket HOMM4 long ago in the deepest sea known to man: the garbage heap.

now i live only for HOMMV, and the promise of new adventures in that sleek and noble new vessel. gar, if that Cap'n Freeverse be worth his grog, he'll make us all a fine ship. or by the name of Pegleg McHambone, he be walkin' the plank 'o financial ruin! GAR HAHAR!!

I apologize for grave digging, but I figured might as well keep these topics in one place... I'm happy that George the Flea has his disk, but I've recently gotten back into Heroes IV and would dearly love it if someone would have the 2.3 patch lying around somewhere. I can't find it or any of the updates as a live link anymore, and it makes me very sad indeed.

If any of you folks have it on the MacGameFiles CD mentioned (assuming you've kept it), and could upload it, I would really appreciate it.

I'm going to keep it around too, so in case anyone ever ends up searching for it, they are more than welcome to get in touch with me and I'll send it their way.
