Is there room in this thread for sites supporting fps mods and maps?
If so, check out AppleCrypt Mods. We simply try to find all the best mods & single player maps for various fps games like BF1942, Doom3, Quake4, CoD, DF-BHD, AvP2, SoF2, UT2004, etc, etc.. Of course, I've no Intel Mac so the newer games aren't supported. Last count, there's almost 70GB of files to download. All freeware.
Why have I never seen this thread before? doh !
Thanks, Strider.

That and those links you posted nagromme, made me happy. well, sortof.

Watching free projects like that Battlestar FS2 mod makes me generally happy and hopeful, that gamedevelopment can be achieved using free methods.

much like moviemaking.

I'm not sure posting other forums is a good idea, there are a bizillion of them out there.  Posting only the preeminent forum for a game would be the way to go if one were to take that route.  Are these Civ forums THE forum of note for these games?

Those are at least among the most important, even linked to on the official Civ IV site.

"Gaming on a Mac is like women on the internet." — "Highly common and totally awesome?"

It's your call, of course. There are two predominant fan sites for Civilization - CFC and Apolyton. Only CFC has dedicated Mac forums for Civ3 and Civ4 as far as I know.

I have just given my older iMac [uses OS 9.1] to a grandson who now is in the second grade.  I'm seeking sources for interesting computer games that will run on the iMac with OS 9.1.  This is my first posting, so I'm not sure my e-mail address will appear.  Just in case, that address is c dhot o dhot thomas at comcast dhot net. Thanks for any leads anyone can provide.   Carl

[Edit - Carl, I've disguised your email address a little in case you don't come back, but you should change this message to ask people to PM you instead.  Posting your email address is just begging for spam.  At least make your email address available in your preferences.  Your email address is protected from view from anybody emailing you from IMG, people enter their message to you in a form, never seeing your address. - tBC]

I got a lot of older Mac games from eBay, but that was some years ago; not sure what it's like these days.  Don't write your email address in plain sight like that unless you like getting spam.

Didn't think I should make a new thread about this:

Does anyone know the name of that game, I think it was announced within the year. I wanna say it's some sort of student design project. It looked like a platformer. The graphics were unique, the foreground was usually different shades of black with the background usually being different shades of another color. It was a sidescroller too. The thing you control looked like a little ball.

I think it's in a beta phase now. I remember seeing it a few months ago and I can't remember anything about it. Google isn't too helpful if you have no idea what to search for =/.

Thanks!
