Gamecloud has posted an interview with Playnet's Al Corey concerning the upcoming retail release of Battleground Europe. In addition to giving more details about Battleground Europe, Al Corey discusses how the World War II MMO combat game has evolved since the initial release, and he sheds some light on a possible expansion into the WWII North African Theatre. Below is a selected excerpt from the interview.

Gamecloud - How did the idea come about to create a new retail product call Battleground Europe?

Al Corey - Our first opportunity to release the game across Europe gave us a chance to regroup our retail effort. We knew the original "WWII Online- Blitzkrieg" wouldn't fly in many European countries plus we knew that the game had changed so substantially over the past 4 years that simply re-releasing it in the U.S. with the same title might keep people from having a look at it again.
The battles rage on once again on October 14, 2005 for $29.95. Please follow the links below for more information.
