I want to play lots of RPGs like Whaleman.
I can think of,
Planescape: Torment
KotoR II
Icewind Dale II
Arx Fatalis (maybe)

I was hoping Macplay would port Planescape: Torment. If someone did port it, I'd still buy it even though it's pretty old.

I gotta say in reply to RandyWang though, Doom3 runs really well on my setup & I had a quick buzz round a level on my pal's system: he has a 256mb video card and the performance is about as good as anyone might reasonably expect.

I'm surprised to think that you'd find the best PowerMac money can buy (without a thirty-year wait) putting out half the framerate of an equivalent PC is "as good as anyone might reasonably expect".
Why are you looking at my Macintosh?

Don't hate me because I'm beau... {note to self: avoid references to 20-year-old Kelly LeBrock ads}. Hate me because I pointed out  this homepage.

(Couldn't you just hate Sega instead? And why hasn't this highly saleable game been ported, anyway? :luck: :luck: )

Hiya,

Sheesh, guess I'm showing my age here or something, I'm amazed it's not mentioned already...

Sid Meier's Pirates!

I failed so many classes and lost so many hours of work because of that one back in '94 or so...

I've been ogling alienware pc's lately ever since I played it on a buddy's pc...it's still addictive!

Painkiller has been pretty addictive. I also enjoyed Homeworld 1+2 and Command & Conquer Generals.

the title of this thread could also be "what game are you going to buy when you get your new dual-boot MacIntel?

i'd answer the Total War series, Empire Earth II, and Heroes of MIght and Magic V (when it comes out in early 2006).

I wasn't just tempted... I gave in.

My infatuation with the world of DeusEx got me to get a gaming rig for DeusEx 2 after no one stepped up with a port...  The prospect of a guaranteed Half Life 2 and Doom 3 were also contributing factors. Half Life 2 alone was worth it.  Turns out DX2... was not.

Yup, pretty much.

Rome is the best to date of the series, IMHO. Medieval was better than Samurai, again, IMHO. But if you're Jonesing for ancient military battles in Japan, there is none finer than TW: Samurai.

And if at any time you decide to go on vacation and need someone to look after your gaming PC I volunteer ... as long as you don't mind me installing a certain Creative Assembly/Activision game to the drive, that is  ;)

  Already have a PC.
However it still is not as stable as my Mac even with XP.
It cost just as much as a new X-Box did. It isn't the most recent high end PC but it does the job well enough.
If only I could replace Windows with something better.  :(

or a leaked and highly illegal copy of OSX??? apparently apple didnt put in proper failsafes against it being copied, and any hardware problems can be worked around or something. Youd still have to live with a horrible PC box though.

And dont hate sega, hate and despise sony for lying so much about the PS2 and creating a ridiculous amount of hype only for people to realise too late that Sega's dreamcast was much better, thus putting Sega out of the console business, into the third Party business and in a position with necessity to buy CA and a lucrative franchise...
Or blame Nintendo for going with panasonic and not sony for the SNES upgrade, and thus giving Sony reason to delve into the world of console gaming.
Or get frustrated at.... no actually, thats as far back as i can think...
I blame PacMan.
Polytetrafluoroethylene to my friends.
