This game was announced last year and nothing has been heard since. Where is this game? Is it still coming to Mac OS X?

On that note, are there any Puyo Puyo games for Mac OS X? I remember this game being really addictive when I played this around 10 years ago, and I really fancy getting back into it, considering the fact that I'm getting bored of the current line of games out at the moment...

Didn't know where to post this thread, as there is no "puzzle game" forum...

Hey no problem.  It's a tough call, not obvious at all.  I'm going to move the thread to the Action & Arcade forum as that most fits the description of this Tetris like game.

FloboPuyo is a free (both libre and gratis) Puyo Puyo implementation for Mac, Linux and Windows. It lacks polish here and there, but overall it's very impressive given that it's free. It is still being developed in the authors' spare time, and the next release should have support for networked two player games and improvements to single player mode as well.

Thanks for those links. I've been addicted to Puyo Puyo for the last couple of days now. Can't get enough of it....soooooo much better than the other (boring, dull and samey) more recent games that are out there at the moment...

last year SEGA announced puyo puyo fever or macosx (for japan only) in two versions :
-the regular game
-a bundle with the game and a USB SEGA saturn pad

I remember to have preordered the bundle last year at lik-sang.com but unfortunately they canceled my order 10 days after the release :( (their supply was low)

However this game was released for sure :
http://www.sega.jp/pc/puyofmac/

Now I have bought the SEGA USB pad (one of the best pads, extremely suitable for all 2D games) but I never found the game.
If you know a shop (online) which has puyo mac in stocks I am interested.

Japan only?????? Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

I played Puyo Pop Fever on the GBA and it rocks. Definitely one of the best puyo games out there. But why have sega released the mac version of this game only in Japan?

I'm Gutted!! Surely an english localisation wouldn't be too difficult...???

I want it......!!!!

A localization wouldn't be difficult, but I guess Sega wasn't banking on high US sales or something.

Does anyone know of a way to buy Puyo Puyo Fever outside of Japan?
Most of the Japanese online stores I could find (like Apple Japan, segadirect.jp, and Amazon.co.jp) won't ship it overseas (as far as I can tell).  Does anyone know of a store that does ship overseas?
I would really love to get this game.

Even with no Puyo Puyo game on the Mac, if you own a home or portable console, you should be able to find one iteration or another of the game. For instance, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is an official Puyo Puyo game under a different name.

Here are the Puyo games (including licensed spinoffs) released for all platforms in North America (excluding computer versions):

Puyo Pop Advance (2002) for the GBA
Puyo Pop Fever (2004) for the GameCube
Puyo Pop (2003) for the NGage
Puyo Pop (1999) for the Neo Geo Pocket
Kirby's Avalanche (1995) for the SNES
Dr. Robotnik Mean Bean Machine (1993) for the Genesis
Dr. Robotnik Mean Bean Machine (1994) for the Sega Game Gear

Note that the Genesis version of Mean Bean Machine is also included in Sonic Mega Collection, released for the GameCube (2002), the PS2 (2004) and the Xbox (2004).

Sadly, I saw a lone copy of Puyo Puyo Fever (gamecube version) sitting in the games bargain bin at Target last night.

What's the deal here? I thought it was understood all along that Sega only ever intended a Japan release.

Probably.....unfortunately. I really do think that there is a market for this game in countries around the world other than Japan. I mean, i'm addicted to the GBA version that my mate has......

Amazon Japan has restrictions on what items can be shipped overseas.  Some things (like books and CDs) can be shipped overseas.  Other things (like software) can't be.
