Hi

I just pulled the questions in another threat but i though this might be interresting to investigate.

so which Gamcharakters of Sidekicks are ther you don´t like?

this is not about good or bad, you know everybody loves Darth Vader,
this is about nerds.


for me Cortana (ComputerCore in Halo) is a BITCH (the kind of Lt. E.Ripley referes to in "Aliens", no sexual offense intented),
with a selfrightious attitude.
For every situation she (thinks) to know what to do, acting out the surpised and caring one, and in the end she makes it even worse. No one (exp. the Masterchief) is saved and the Flood is spreading anyway.
I don´t blame for for trying but being so sure of what she thinks is right.


I´ve not played Halo 2 yet so perhaps there is some new I don´t know about.

PS:as always: don´t let my Marathon centered view of the World keep your opions from coming from all directions!

If Jar Jar Binks is in a game, he would HAVE to be the most annoying game character ever.

I think all the aliens in Halo are annoying and whiney.

I don't like Lara Croft. Ridiculous.

I also dislike Kashya, the Rogue captain in Diablo 2. She grates on me when you get the quest to kill Blood Raven from her.

I also dislike the redneck spotter/pit chief who talks to you in Nascar 2003. I'll drive the wrong way if I want to dammit.

I also dislike Miriam, the religious fanatic leader in Alpha Centauri. I'll almost always save an earthbuster for her.

The helicopter pilot who announces "heavy traffic" in SimCity 2000 is very annoying. I remember there was a cheat to make him crash

The guy in Caesar 2 who kept saying, "Plebs are needed." ANNOYING.

Seriously, an elf boy in green tights and a fat plumber clad in overalls?  These characters were cool back in 1987, but seeing them revised into the cutesy versions they are today is enough to turn any gamer over the age of 13 away.

That skanky Red Faction leader... whatsherface.  I forget.  She was as inspiring as sitting in sewage with a cut.

The following below is from an old post of mine here:

Man I hated the Red Faction leader. You know, what's her face. Her voice sounds like a cross between Alice Kramden in the Honeymooners and fingernails being scratched down a blackboard. I just want to break off the last 6 inches of that torpedo shaped snot box she calls a nose and beat her to death with it.

Her: "Par-ker hurry UP! Not with THAT fork! You call that mayhem, ha ha ha, my FIRST husband KNEW carnage!!" Look at what you've done NOW!"

Me: "SHUT UP!! SHUT UP YOU SOUL EATING, PENIS SHRIVELING, ABSTINENCE INSPIRING, WHARF SHRIEKING FISH WIFE!!!"

I tried to shoot her. I thought, "There must be a thousand ways to remove a burr from your saddle, this is #777". Then I unloaded the assault rifle in her face. I had immediate satisfaction however the game ended saying I lost, the rebellion was doomed. I won but I lost! What kind of crazy mixed up world is this?? The same thing happened when I capped that look-alike Malcolm X noodle. Relativistically speaking, a rail gun slug was the last thing to go through his mind.

Myself, I freakin' hate the main character of Red Faction, but that's because he's an obnoxious little runt.

I also dislike Max Payne, but that's probably something to do with having to stare at his leopard-skin-clad back for the best part of eighteen hours. I mean, really, how much more tasteless can you get? >_<

I am totally with you on that.  I had some choice words for him too somewhere but I couldn't find them.  The numb nards throws away the opportunity to go to a fine college so he can go to Mars and dig in a MINE for crap sake.  On top of that he whines about his own choices like it is someone else's fault.  His scripted conversations with others makes me want to bang my head against a steel bulkhead.  He is probably my least favorite character to play.  

(The game itself was great iMac Man.  A fine shooter.  GeoMod and that spectacular rail gun keep calling me back to play again.  Just wish they used GeoMod more.  I've spent hours in the glass house level)

• Jaheira pisses me off so much that I get rid of her in the first conversation in BGII. Better to fill that slot with someone else.
• Sam Fisher's daughter. Is she stupid, or what?
• The main Jedi chick in KOTOR. I always choose the dialogue option that makes her mad.
• Not a person, but the nightmare levels in Max Payne. So not necessary.
• My team mates in CoD single player. Oh sure, go run out there and get yourselves killed. Sigh.

And, I'm glad I'm not the only person that loves the glass house!  It's amazing that it's still fun to dig a tunnel miles deep, and just jump and enjoy the fall.

Same frustration with CoD comrades, including the sigh. I'm trying to think if is in general or scenario specific (thus 'comrades").

Personally, I dig a tunnel a mile deep, and then another one directly above it, then amuse myself by firing Fusion rockets straight up and watching the pretty star of light disappear into the distance. Funfun.

I came across another one

Gunther Hermann from DX. Though I think he his desinged to be not liked, I think he´s really
pathetic, and a intented German as if it was not enough.

It´beyond me how how Anna Navarre could stand him. I wonder If they do talk about anything else than balisitcs?

Simmons is an a++hole but he´s a cool one. It is very satisfiying to kill him...
And it´s  a real pleasure to end the misery life of Gunther.

But it´s very sad that you have to kill Navarre at some point, I find her kind of sexy, twisted as I am.


Red Faction: Hendrix is surly a nerd: rallying you around in a high security complex just to wave you Hello! The Devs might have know why they put him behind glass, I woud have shot him right away!

Aaah, yes that´s why I coudln´t find his Name in the Booklet (The Cast-pages), as I only remembered that his name began with "S".
so it´s Walton Simons to be precise
