We need a blockbuster hit, like Halo for Xbox, that will send Mac sales through the roof. We need something to save and enlarge the mac gaming community. We need a game that appeals to most computer gamers, who tend to be fps gamers. We need a real native mac exclusive and not some port. Something that will run smooth on a mac and yet have all the great quality of the mac. Xbox was just like the Mac except along came Bungie (A Native Mac Company) who gives them, what some say, the best game ever. So lets start a revolution, a revolution for better Mac games, not those two year old ports. Join the revolution! We need all artist, programmers, and mac users we can find! Give up your great gaming ideas as a sacrafice to the Mac community, and take us from third rate users to first rate users. JOIN THE REVOLUTION!

Actually, Bungie WAS making Halo for the Mac, and along comes MicroSoft and screws it all up, like they always do....

I say, make Stubbs The Zombie Mac-only!!  ;)  :D

lol

Unfortunately, if you want to change Mac gaming, the first person you need to convince is Steve Jobs, and the rest of Apple....  until Apple supports gaming the way MicroSoft supports gaming, I doubt much will change for us.

There are several great gaming companies doing all they can to bring games to the Mac, but until Apple gets involved, I don't think we'll be seeing any special Mac-only features or gaming technologies.

I hate to say it, but I think the main thing holding back Mac gaming is Apple....  :(

I can see your point.

I think Apple needs to showcase their G5 with a killer game. When i got my G5 Apple gave me Quickbooks!  :glare:

I think that Apple should make a game (or hire someone), that really show cases what their computers can do and ship it with every unit (at least the G5 Tower).

Yeah, there needs to be a game as classic as Marathon! ( I still play it, its that fun )

I don't know what kind of game would so this though.. Maybe some RPG, maybe some new shooter.. I'm really into the puzzel games like Myst. I find them to be better then most of my other games, but thats probably because of the plot, and the fact i have read all of the books

Who knows?

Let us convince Steve Jobs, let us convince apple, the gaming community is growing to be the largest entertainment industry, let apple have a chip in this industry.

My understanding is that Bungie acquiesced to Microsoft's offer to buy, and that part of the reason Bungie did this was lack of capital to finish the projects they had so much invested in (Oni, Halo).  But that's just hearsay.

Unfortunately bungie.net's server is blitzing in a big way so I can't reference the "bungie history" page, but that talks about it.

So it could be argued that although Microsoft did hoard Halo for the Xbox for a while, perhaps Halo wouldn't have ultimately made it out at all to the Mac and PC without their actions?

And thus it ultimately wasn't interference at all?

But that's just hearsay.  There are people here who know a lot more than I do.  Think I'd be careful with that stone before I threw it anymore though.

Generally speaking though, most communist governments come in power during some sort of revolution.

And then once this Mac "revolution" happened, we would end up sharing our love of the Mac platform with all the PC buddies :P

We don't sacrifice virgins. We sacrifice cats. Why do you think so many of our members have cats? For fun?
