I'm really not liking having to use BitTorrent to download the KnightShift demo.  If there was a seed user it would work fine, but as it is it moves too slow (if at all) to be worthwhile.  Why is there not an option to download the file normally?  I'm perfectly willing to act as a seed once the file is downloaded, but at the current rate it will be downloaded in 13 days, which is hardly acceptable.

I don't know what your problem is.  I got this demo at 300-600 k/s with bittorrent.  Amazing.

Skaak, you have a firewall issue. Check out some of the Bittorrent FAQ's on tips on how to improve your speeds. I'm clocking in at over 400k per second.

You're almost right, but it's not a firewall.  I just found out that the college internet service severely throttles P2P programs, including BitTorrent.

Stupid college.

Hopefully one of the other Mac download sites will do a non-BitTorrent mirror of the demo so I can try it.  KnightShift looks really cool.

Thank you Tuncer!

MacUpdate and VersionTracker would be the other download sites, but I only visit them in times of desparate need.  :)

There are ways to get around that.

Most ISPs, and likely your college, "blacklist" several common ports used by P2P applications, such as BitTorrent.  These blacklisted ports are generally the default ports used by these P2P applications.  To get around this problem, simply change the port numbers to something else.
