I know that original BG2 shipped with very wonky support for OSX. I was considering getting this game, but I'm really not interested in booting into 9 (which I can still do) to play it.

Did they ever address the problems, or did they just let it sit?

I bought BG2 several months after it came out, so I don't know how it shipped.  But using the most recent version (I think I downloaded one patch, if I remember right), I played it entirely in X and never had ANY problems.

The only problem is with 3D acceleration, so as long as you don't have that turned on, it runs great. I've played it without any real issues (besides incompatibility with swedish keyboard layout, I had to switch to US layout for playing without issues) in Jaguar, and ToB doesn't seem to have any problems to run in Panther.
You shouldn't ask yourself such worthless questions. Aim higher. Try this: why am I here? Why do I exist, and what is my purpose in this universe?

(Answers: 'Cause you are. 'Cause you do. 'Cause I got a shotgun, and you ain't got one.)

If I remember correctly, 3D acceleration is a problem for every version of BG2 (9, X, and even PC).  Isn't that true?

I think you are correct, because I have played it on PC with 3D acceleration and all the movement was choppy.  Same with Macs.

Hmmm, looks like im the only one having problems with BG2-ToB. It appears that I cant save my game at all. It just tells me that the save game failed and if I would like to quit. Ive emailed macplay about it, but i think im going to try a reinstall too.
