Hi Guys,

I just wanted to know if the mac version of UT 2004/2003 came with the same mod/content tools as the PC version. I wanted to try playing arould with some 3D modeling and creating my own levels in games and I just wawnted to know if this had the supported tools.

Thanks,

The UnrealEd did not make it to the Mac, and that's the tool for doing all the 3D, audio, etc work to make/modify maps.

But, ucc did make it, which allows you to create and compile your own "mutators" if you're interested in that kind of thing. (Mutators are scripts that modify how the game works. For example, lowering gravity or making all weapons be a certain type -- say rockets or sniper rifles -- or even make you head get bigger the more opponents you kill.)

BTW, is there a Mac UED petition somewhere?

Someone should compile a list of all the games for Mac that DO ship with the editor... you'd have a handful at most.  Aftermarket editors maybe a bit bigger... but I doubt it.  I'm lazy and don't know the entire list... so I can't be of much help.

Petitions don't work,

But UnrealEd for Unreal Engine 3 are made cross platform so they should be available for Mac when a game using it comes out for Mac.

Has that been confirmed? Last I saw, Ryan said they wanted to do it "for a later version". That could be 4 pr 5 as well you know, if at all. But if you have anything that confirms it for 3, please link it to me =)
You shouldn't ask yourself such worthless questions. Aim higher. Try this: why am I here? Why do I exist, and what is my purpose in this universe?

(Answers: 'Cause you are. 'Cause you do. 'Cause I got a shotgun, and you ain't got one.)

In a Gamesome Mac interview, Ryan talked about how the UnrealEd for Unreal Engine 3 was made using cross platform libraries, not the Windows specific ones like before. I would guess that would be the only real reason it was not ported before (read: totally rewritten because of those windows only libraries), so now that that is gone I would say its a fairly high chance of getting it as long as we get a game using Unreal Engine 3.
