Look at this:
Starcraft: 11 million copies sold
Myth 1:  350,000
Myth 2: ?? 500,000 ??

there you go more people like starcraft

Did you pull those numbers out of your ass, or do you have any support for them?

Still, StarCraft did most probably sell more copies than Myth II, but if you look at it like that. Doom 2 just has to be a better game than Marathon 2. Sales doesn't equal how good a game is.

Are you always this cranky?
I got Myth I sales from a bungie site,
I saw starcraft sales in multiple places,
I guessed Myth II on the Myth I sales

Many Sales do not a good game make. Unless you're saying the Sims is the best game ever?

If Sales are everything, why are you on a Mac website? Shouldn't you be on a PC?

Or a microwave oven. I bet they sell even more than PCs.

Now, Now that's not what i'm saying.
I'm just saying if you did a survey, since more people own starcraft it's more likely that it'll beat Myth.

It's like how Marathon beat Doom in that game competition on gamespy or whatever.  It was like 15% to 85% because no one played Marathon since it was a Mac title...

was Myth mac only? I can't remember...

Myth 1 wasn't mac only, but it wasn't hybrid like Soulblighter. It's my personal hunch that the first sold rather poorly on the PC side, but the second did better. At least it feels like that when talking to PC gamers.

My often used N*Sync comment comes into play here.

How many of the 10-year old N*Sync fangirls have even heard of good bands? The same thing applies to your average StarCraft player.

I don't know how o take that comment. I liked Myth II and Starcraft, but i played battle.net heaps, but i never got a chance to play Bungie.net. So I don't have the same experience with those games, so... how was Bungie.net?

I would say Total Annihilation is a fantastic game which has kept me and friends busy. I've haven't played many of the other games because I've been using a 266 iMac for the last 5 years! But my new 1.33 12" PB is a godsend!

Yeah Total Annihilation rocks! Unfourtunatly it doesn't run (well) in Mac OS X, and nothing remotely gets near it's replay, unit control, expandability and overall momentum as a RTS game.

NB: this Unreal 200X mod of TA should be relased very soon. http://ua.tauniverse.com/

Warrior Kings has some fun and and new features, but the unit control sucks.
WarCraft 3 (:TFT) is a great game, but very unlike TA.
Command & Conquer: Generals is fun, but we need the Zero Hour expansion!
