(and Deus Ex X)

Here I go opening a huge can of worms, but....

For Deus Ex fans out there, if a native OS X version of Deus Ex was available as a $19.95 product, but not as a free download for previous DX owners, would you buy it? Or would you be incensed and start six "I hate Aspyr" threads?

Just pure conjecture, read nothing into this please.

Absolutely.... and what a great thing to bundle with DX2....  :-D

Just to be clear, I'd buy it even if it wasn't part of a DX2 bundle. I just loooove pushing my luck.

I sure wouldn't, nor would most/all of the other hardcore DX fans around, but you just asked us "Deus Ex fans", and that's not everyone on this board. I'm sure someone who doesn't have DX fever will still want to get pissy about it.

I'd buy it, it would be great just to see Deus Ex in production again.

Since I shouldn't read anything into it, I don't expect to see it, though.

And just for the record, I will _happily_ pay the $20 for one reason: It means I can get rid of classic. DX is the ONLY reason I still have classic sticking around, and it plays crappy in that as it is.

Ya know, it worked for Fallout...  I think...  Hmmm, now I'm curious how well Fallout X sold.

Somehow I think Glenda was making commentary on the matter of another game being discontinued by bringing up Deus Ex as an example--not that it isn't a good thing to show for the demand of this and perhaps its sequel game. She did say not to read anything into it.

Amen! I want 10.3.x for Halo, but I don't want to give up 10.2.8 and simultaneously lose Deus Ex.

Aspyr would certainly have my $20.

Aspyr would also have my $60 for Deus Ex 2... *hint hint*

Now I'd say that this topic has gone way off the original track.

But yes, I'd definitely pay $20 for Deus Ex for OS X. It'd be a lot more convenient than to wait until I get a new Mac so that I can turn this one into a dedicated OS 9 machine just to play games like Deus Ex and Majesty and other old (and newer) games without OS X support.
You shouldn't ask yourself such worthless questions. Aim higher. Try this: why am I here? Why do I exist, and what is my purpose in this universe?

(Answers: 'Cause you are. 'Cause you do. 'Cause I got a shotgun, and you ain't got one.)

That kind of depends on the quality of the port, if it is stellar than sure I'd pay. The reason I'm saying this is that Undying (the only other UT1-level game I've played under OS X) ran like total crap on my Mac, which admittedly is not a speedfreak but still above the minimum requirements. If Ryan Gordon's work on UTPG turns out well then maybe using his new codebase to do the port (or just having him do it) would be a good idea...
