I forced myself to take a break from Monster Hunter World (but I got myself the Iceborne expansion, so...) and played some other very japanese game: Warriors All-Stars, which is one of the 387 spin-offs and sequels to Dynasty Warriors.

The gimmick of this spin-off is that the characters are taken from all kind of other Tecmo Koei franchises, most of which I have never heard of before. As a result, the game is completely incoherent. You have realistic looking characters like William Adams from Nioh, wildly overdesigned anime-style characters, a cartoonish samurai cat, and whatever the frell this is supposed to be fighting side by side on locations ranging from fairly normal forests and japanese castles, to Las Vegas style casinos and some kind of post-apocalyptic sections of Tokyo, which all are supposed to be located within some fantasy realm inhabited by furries. And for some reason, the characters are constantly yapping about food.

Yeah, better not to think too much about that...

Anyway, the game is some nicely mindless cathartic hack-and-slash, but I found it's better to be played in measures. The missions are just too repetitive and by the time I finished the story (I somehow managed to end up on the long track to the "best" of 15 endings of the game) I was pretty sick of it.

After finishing up Subnautica Lowbrow Zero ... I installed and fired up BIOMUTANT.

So far, and interesting game, where I feel like I am in kindergarten and no one knows how to properly name things. Kind of like if Jar Jar Binks decided to write a game.

I mean, it fits the narrative/style of the game, its just a bunch of stupid critters with a misunderstanding of how the world was before it all went to hell. So they get some things wrong sometimes.

As for the gameplay, its decent. Seeing a lot of copy/paste assets everywhere, but so far has ben having enough unique things peppered in to keep it interesting as you wander about doing things. As much as the game seems to be pressuring me into doing 'the right thing'... I am determined to be as vile and evil as I can be despite its incessancy of doing good. We'll see how it goes lol.
