I'll be up front and disclose that upon release of betas I peruse Hackintosh forums looking for just this. Apple just seeded macOS 10.14.5 Beta and, according to recognized developer 'Pavo' (while this is Polish for 'Paul,' but Spanish for 'turkey,' I'll presume the former) on InsanelyMac Forums, the new beta includes Radeon VII drivers.

As I'm experiencing random black screens that bring down my Hackintosh that I'm not sure are attributed to my video card or motherboard and I can't go back to Team Green this may be an excellent excuse to waste a lot of money for me. :P

BTW, the card is amazing! Nothing is slow on this. I'm going to go benchmark Pong…

Great news! I like my Vega 56 just fine, but lack of Radeon VII support was causing me to wonder about Apple's commitment to eGPU in the long run.

I'm hoping that they add support for the new Navi cards soon. The 5700 and 5700 XT are actually pretty compelling cards at their price points. 5700 XT is barely slower then the Radeon VII and costs nearly half the price (at least here in Canada).

Honestly, if I'd known about the 5700/5700XT I would've probably held out. Bang for buck the Vega56 is a better buy than the Vega64 and I feel the same about the 5700XT to Radeon VII relationship but I bought it right before the 5700/XT was announced.
