Also Pathetic Earthlings I figured out is Operation Flashpoint: Red River. Specifically it's a snip from this screenshot... I figured out out via reverse image search and just visually...
Nice! I never would have expected to see a military simulation of that calibre on the Mac.

I don't see how pathetic earthlings relates to it as that codename conjurs up stuff like invader zim in my mind or "Destroy All Humans!" a PS2\Xbox 1 era game which never came to the PC....
I think mattw was right with the Ming quote. Flash Gordon. Operation Flashpoint.

I was thinking about "VIP Slam" a bit more and think it's really Sega Superstar Tennis. VIP = Superstar and Slam as in "slamming the ball".

I'm actually a little surprised that (if it is) Red River is being ported instead of Dragon Rising. Only because I think I heard better critical response from Dragon Rising than Red River.

I think this sounds exciting!

Has anyone here played Operation Flashpoint: Red River?

Nah, but I have played Dragon Rising. As said from what I heard, Red River is a more console-ized game, it got mixed reviews, such like Dragon Rising.

Lots of videos, screenshots etc of " Operation Flashpoint: Red River" (Xbox version) here:

IGN: Operation Flashpoint Red River

Can't wait!! Thank you Feral! Hurry!

What similar games do we have for the Mac? COD4 was awesome. This looks better.

I don't have any proof but for Rocket! I'm thinking Lego Pirate's of the Caribbean.  Feral has almost every other Lego game out(except the first which was Aspyr) and the picture looks like the netting going up the mast.
This isn't the signature you're looking for.

Someone asked about that on their Facebook page and they just pointed out that Disney already publishes it for Mac (albeit wrapped in Cider)... so it's out of their hands.

That's already out. Unfortunately without Feral's involvement.

The Eggman revelation gave me right idea for "Smash Mouth": Sonic All Star Racing.
The song All Star was actually the first thing that sprang to mind for Smash Mouth, but I couldn't think what game that could refer to.

Not to mention "Grand Slam".

While we're talking Lego games: I don't think "Rocket!" is either Lego Batman 2 or Lego Lord of the Rings. I'm pretty sure both will get Mac ports, but it seems unlikely that Feral teases them before even the other versions are released (plus, the picture does not seem to fit any of these games' screenshots).

It's definitely not Red River although that's based on my "private sources" who may or may not be accurate.

I know that a native (no cider) version was developed and the AppStore version I think will be a native port (without cider), just without the usual extra features, improved pad support etc you get on a Feral Mac port. The DRM especially in the Transgaming store might be cider I don't know.

Your logic seems impeccable. That what I would have guessed/assumed if I was allowed to... I cannot guess and my NDA means I have to forget what I do in the office the moment I log into IMG. It's like my own special groundhog day!

On the subject of controls in Feral versions... LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 isn't showing the correct gamepad prompts on the screen for my wireless 360 pad... it's showing them as numbers. Also there doesn't seem to be any plist files to modify to add or fix that either.

Also.. now that you mentioned it... how can they use Cider for DRM and nothing else?

Makes sense, since the picture is indeed from OF Dragon Rising (see here, picture #6 in the gallery).

No it does not have those features, the development on the title was done primarily by TT Games so it has less features than our other titles as it does not use all our based feature libraries. Pad support is one of these areas, multiple monitors choice is another if I remember correctly.

I meant that the DRM copy of the game on the transgaming site might be a Cider port (I don't know but the internet suggests it might be) however the App Store build I am pretty sure is Mac native from the ground up.

I wonder what the motivation is for maintaining what is presumably two separate code bases? I don't believe Cider ports are against App Store policy otherwise the GTA trilogy wouldn't be on there.

On the other hand it has some of the best true discrete PCM surround sound out of any of the LEGO ports I've played... (most of them don't support it).. and even edges out Deus Ex HR in that department utilizing the center channel speaker more. Seriously, I was amazed by the sound and was pleasantly surprised that it had it...

Interesting, although I can't verify this myself because I don't have the game although it's easy to check if one looks inside the app bundle.
